Bungalows built on stilts overlooking a secluded private beach with swimming, fishing and bicycling as the day’s activities.

Far away from the cares of the world (821 kilometers from Bangkok) this quiet resort has a quaint fishing village as the only neighbor. Peddle one of the hotels bicycles to the village and the native sea gypsies will show you how to paint batik of take you fishing on their boat. Visit the nearby island or, if you need more excitement, the hotel’s speedboat can whisk you to Krabi Town in 10 minutes. The bungalows have a living room, bedroom and a big veranda for lazing about. Find your own place in the sun by the pool or on the beach. Or relax in the shade on hammock under your bungalow. If you want quiet, beauty and water, this is the place.

Due to ongoing municipal roadwork at the entrance of the Island Village resort that will result in inconvenience for guests, the resort will close bookings from 10 May 2009 to 30 September 2009. Guests can make bookings at the Islands Village Resort for stays beginning from 1 October 2009.

Cool rooms

difficulty getting to the resort

Our son had been living on the island for four months and that is what brought us to the hotel. The rooms are new and very nicely appointed, although the lack of air conditioning in the bathroom area was problamatic with temperatures hovering in the 40's. Breakfast and dinners were good but not great. The pool and setting is lovely. Off the resort the island offers minimal opportunities for shopping etc and there is no place else to eat except to go into Krabbi. It would be nice if there was a peir close to the resort for quicker access.

New and modern. All you need for a comfortable stay (from free internet access at the lobby to multichannel cable TV). Friendly and attentive staff, good food, excellent pool.

Website not clear about the beach. It is not for swimming, only for fishing.

Quiet. Darkest nights. Hear the sound of the waves, and the palm trees. Pure nature. Great sunsets. No roads, so, no cars...on the whole island. No buildings, no shopping, no traffic, no crowds around the hotel. Only wilderness.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Follow the beach towards the right of the hotel all the way to the bridge. Turn right, follow the "road" to the hotel. Lots of opportunities for pictures, meeting the nice locals, and be part of the village. About 2 hours walk if you stop a lot to chat and take pictures.
