Exquisite hospitality rendered by the staff.Ideal attitude displayed by the staff. Nice clean rooms with pool access. Very close to the main market. Four minute's walk to the beach. Spacious room with adequate Room Amenities. Free wireless internet access for our room category.Refined manners of staff.Nice Indian restuarants in the near vicinity. No Sign Board at the entrance which caused a bit of confusion earlier. There were lots of lizards in the corridor. The hotel room finish is a bit crude and bathrooms were ordinary. Delayed wakeup calls. Depressive towel colour (Maroon). corridor It was a well known resort therefore, we did not experience any difficulty in finding the location. However,there was no Sign Board at the entrance which caused a bit of confusion earlier. The resort is very close to the main market and four minute's walk to the beach. The staff at reception offered us an upgrade which was a pleasant surprise. Nice clean rooms with pool access wich was quite spacious with adequate Room Amenities. Best thing I enjoyed in the room was free wireless internet access for our room category. Once we got late for the breakfast, the staff at Spice Restaurant without any hesitation offered us the table and served us specially prepared breakfast, despite the fact that every thing had been closed …… a wonderful gesture which speaks of refined manners and professional approach. We enjoyed the exquisite hospitality rendered by the staff. We never found any weakness in the attitude of the staff throughout our stay. All kind of technical support was readily available.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hong Island and Trip to Phi Phi Islands were the best attractions.

Swim up pool bar. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Large clean rooms. Walking distance to the main street and shopping. A beautiful resort! staff were wonderful, caring & very helpful. The rooms are clean & spacious. The pool & swim up pool bar was absolutely awesome! All the gardens around the resort were gorgeous & well looked after. We couldn't have asked for more, everything was perfect! We will definately be staying again!

good location I had been staying at a more expensive hotel (2x the price of La Playa) and found La Playa to be a much better choice. It was every bit as good as the more expensive hotel, just a bit older. The rooms are large and clean, the service is excellent, breakfast is good, and the pools are lovely. The location is very good - you can walk to town or take a tuk-tuk for 40 baht. There is free internet in the lobby if you have your lap top.
Travel tip : Take a tuk-tuk into the main town; there are lots of places to have a great dinner.

-Clean, easy access to dining & shopping
-Nice & large pool
-Service is friendly, but not fluent in English
-Daily tours can be booked easily from hotel
-No Wifi in room, only available at lobby, which is inconvenient, uncomfortable & no privacy.
-Walkway to & from the main street can be dark & lonely during nite, unsafe for single traveller
-Entrance is rather remote and away from the main street
I expected the place to be larger, and was a bit disappointed with the route to entrance, which is rather secluded and unsafe during nite time.
Otherwise, I am happy with my stay there, and would recommend to frens who are looking for an average budget accomodation.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't miss out the local tours, especially island hoppings, eco, city or cultural tours. Check with the hotel staff, its cheap and worthy. Your trip will not be complete without these sightseeings.

more sign board to hotel to make easier to find. I stayed in Krabi la playa for 1 night because I was going to Phi Phi island. Hotel just finished new paintings so it's look clean and new. I enjoy swimming in the big swimming pool. Thai massage was very good.
Travel tip : Pool Deluxe with Jacuzzi is very interesting for my next trip

Location is good. Hotel sits in quiet corner but only a few minutes to beachfront. Hotel room is spacious and clean. Large swimming pool.
The best thing in this hotel that I like best is the swimming pool.One night that I went out for my dinner outside the hotel and came back lately around 20.30,I still wanted to swim in the swimming pool.At that time no one stayed there and it was quiet dark.I thought that I couldn't swim at this time but my husban recommended me to call to the operater that could we swim at this time for only half an hour.Big surprise ! she said "yes".So I had a very good time there and got relaxation in a sitting jacuzzi at the back of my room.It's a very lovely time for me and my husband.He promises me to be there again if we have a holiday.I also like there staff.They said sawasdee to us every morning and gave us a good recommend when we asked them for a help.The room is clean + quiet and I like their elephant hand towel.
Hotel Feature Tip : Don't forget to swim in the swimming pool and get relaxation in yr private jacuzzi behind yr room if u are tried from yr swimming.

Walking distance to everything. Free Wifi in lobby, and some rooms. Very friendly staff with excellent english compared to other Ao Nang hotels, they went the extra mile to make my stay pleasurable. Mini bar and room service prices were ok. Not on the main road, this is a positive if you like a quiet stay. La Playa is not on the main road which at first I didn't like. However, hotel is well within walking distance to everything in Ao Nang. Free Wifi in lobby, and some rooms. Any improvement in this service would be a positive. The Breakfast had a good selection with chefs that cooked on request. Friendly staff with good english skills made the hotel stay fun! I would recommend this if you are planning to stay in Ao Nang for 2 weeks.
Restaurant Tip : Get a tuk tuk to Kruathara Seafood Restaurant; or ask staff to arrange for you. Well worth it!

Spacious room, friendly staff, good breakfast All staff should speak and understand English To our joy we were upgraded to the superior room which has the access to a swimming pool! This is the room you should be looked out for when make a booking. It was spacious and clean. We arrived around 9:45pm the hotel dinning room was closed, but we were very tired and didn't want to go out we phoned the front desk and explained our situation although her English was not good she eventually understood! and sent out one of the staff on her motorcycle to buy us some Rotees (Thai pancakes) Also she sent to our room some more fruits. We had a swim at midnight! The next morning when we came out of our room, the cleaning lady who were sweeping the floor greeted us in Thai "Sawatdee ka" which later we learnt it means "Good morning" which was so lovely! Breakfast was fine but not enough fruits to go around! Swimming pool is clean and many levels quite impressive for the size of this hotel and since there were not so many guests around we felt like we were on a private home somewhere. Next time we will stay longer.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The beach front is only 15 mins walk from the hotel. On the way there many restaurants, shops and many tour operators which offer excursions to other islands. Ask for discount when going out on a boat.

Nice swimming pool and ambiance around the pool area. Quite but good location at Au Nang beach. Bed sheets and pillow case had stains. Not many variety for breakfast. Bathroom can be improved - inconsistent hot water, broken body shampoo dispenser. The trip would have been 'satisfactory' despite on 1 occasion we had stains on the bed sheet and pillow case. We had a dispute when we were billed for the taxi to town upon check-out where in actual fact we had already paid in cash at that time. But due to the lack of proof and we were rushing to the airport we re-paid for it anyway.

Stayed for 3 nights during the New Year season but hotel staffs are still responsive and attentive towards my needs. Room was quite spacious, will be better if the TV reception was much clearer.
Opted for room with a garden, plants were not that attractive but did attract lots of mosquitoes, had to keep the sliding door closed all the time.
The bathroom floor trap got clogged up easily for lower ground as water was not flowing out smoothly, some insects crawl up from the floor trap if not closed properly. It will be better if this spacious room come with bathtub.

The hotel is very peaceful and has a special "ambiance".
The hotel staff provides excellent services.
The hotel is located very close to Ao Nang town (therefore it is very close to all kinds of restaurants, shopping areas and jetty area for excursion to nearby Phi-Phi and Hong Island).
Rooms are very spacious.
The hotel mattresses and bed is rather hard although it may debatable if it is good or bad on individual.
I had stayed at Krabi La Playa Resort with my family for a period of 4 nights and 5 days in December 2008. As a frequent business traveller, I find that the hotel is good to excellent although it can have further improvements to make it a 5 Star resort.
As a family, we liked the place very much because it has the kind of peace and tranquility that most families are looking for during their holidays. The hotel staffs were very pleasant and helpful and we never felt out of place during our stay in Krabi La Playa Resort. The pool was decent size and having it located just next to the restaurant makes it more accessible to the kids or other hotel guest.
The hotel is located very close to Ao Nang town and the beautiful Napphorat Beach. There's a mini mart close by and that helps when all other restaurants/bars are closed. As for shopping, there are bazaars and shop just 3 minutes walk from the hotel. La Playa Resort provides peace and it does have its rewards for all kinds of travelers.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you have spend time swimming, sun bathing or doing the shopping, there are many massage parlor close by to the hotel which you or your family can enjoy a soothing foot reflexology or Thai massage that gets you relax again to enjoy another day in Krabi. Practically, everything that you need as far as food and shopping is concern, it is a very short walking distance from the hotel.

Good AC. Breakfast is not as good as it should have been

-almost only DVD-player as difference.Our relatives had a superior room.Pool-area was very
nice but we think chloride content was to low as
2 ladies caught infection 2 days later.

great hotel that not far away from town. but can escape from crowds. breakfast choice can be improve Overall i love it. Nice reception. Fast service. Even they cant speak fluent english but still willing to help us and answer all our question. The room is worth the money, clean, big enough. not beach side hotel but still have the nice pool. Shops, restaurant just around outside, need to do some small walk. But still ok for us. Will back again.

Good location in Ao Nang. Pool rooms are very nice. Watch out for large bed frame, I broke my toe on it first day OOOUUUCH!!! Situated off the main road, so its nice and quiet but in the heart of Ao Nang, walking distance to all restaurants and bars. Nice pool bar, very friendly staff. All rooms decent size, modern design. Wireless internet access a bit expensive. Large breakfast selection. Stayed there in low season but it was very busy, pool could have done with a few more sun loungers.
Travel tip : Visit Bamboo Bar in the centre point bar area. Soho indian restaurant next to hotel is very nice.
