Situated off the main road, so its nice and quiet but in the heart of Ao Nang, walking distance to all restaurants and bars. Nice pool bar, very friendly staff. All rooms decent size, modern design. Wireless internet access a bit expensive. Large breakfast selection. Stayed there in low season but it was very busy, pool could have done with a few more sun loungers.
Good location in Ao Nang. Pool rooms are very nice.
Watch out for large bed frame, I broke my toe on it first day OOOUUUCH!!!
- Travel tip : Visit Bamboo Bar in the centre point bar area. Soho indian restaurant next to hotel is very nice.

This was our first visit to Krabi and overall it was a very pleasant adventure.We rented a car on arrival at the airport and the rate was quite cheap @ B900 a day for a Toyota Vois car. It was cheaper to rent a car and drive in to the hotel as the taxi fare would have cost two of us around B1200 one way and B2400 to and fro. With the car it only cost B2,700 for 3 days usage. We drove around and ventured on our own to search for all the tourist spots recommended on their tourist map and vistied places like , Hot stream , emerald pool, Huay TAI Waterfall and all the beautiful beaches.
The swimmming pool was beautiful and clean. Rooms are spacious and clean.
The food is a bit expensive with 10% service charge + 7% Vat added on. No entertainment available at the hotel.
- Shopping Tip : If you like free and easy relax trip or scuba and snorkelling then this is the place to be.

Our stay at La Playa was wonderful. We stayed there only one night but I wish it could have been longer. The rooms are quite spacious and have great storage for clothing and luggage. The balcony was really nice as it overlooked the pool area. We received great service from all the staff. The only problems we had were a few communiation problems (some of the staff spoke little English), the cleaning staff decided to power wash the pool area in the middle of the day and we had to move our loungers around but they helped, and the hotel is not on the beach. Other than those minor things, this hotel is near perfect. I definitely hope to go back again and soon.

Somewhat difficult communicating with non-native English speakers. Most did well face-to-face but there were problems speaking on the phone.
- Travel tip : This hotel may be tucked away from the main road but it is within an easy walk to great dining and shopping.

This is definately the best resort I stayed at in the whole of Krabi province and would recommend to anyone as I liked pretty much everything about the hotel.

Also stayed 3 nights at Pakasai Resort, within walking distance from La Playa. Quiet, nice rooms and in natural setting but much pricier.
- Restaurant Tip : Check out the row of seafood restaurants starting with Aonang Seafood which is facing the beach but quite inconspicuous from the road. Good food and reasonably priced.

Ao Nang Beach itself is not suited for swimming or sun bathing, because the beach is narrow. I could not find any beach chairs not bech umbrellas.

If you're looking for a good value hotel close to the beach go for this place.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Suggest taking long tail boats to the closer islands but if you want to go to Phi Phi islands take a speedboat.
If you go for a kayak trip, do not book with the Ao Nang travel group as the guide rode in our three man kayak at the back and emptied my wallet when we were still getting balanced in the boat, do not let your wallet out of your site.
