Location is in strategic place, breakfast also good!

for me,..the light are not too bright,..found some places with little light.

Good location, clean hotel, good breakfast, the most important thing,..many food stoller infront of the Hotel!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : our plan to go to phi2 island was cancelled coz by the unfriendly weather at that time, rainy w a big wave, unsafety for sail. We decide to visit the Nemo fish around there, good place to visit if ure not goin anywhere! there are very big2 crab, and fishes, can't tell ya till u see it by ur self!

Very friendly personnel Location Excellent cleanliness Comfortable bungallow Wide choice breakfast

Such a paradise should provide free wifi internet access Breakfast coffee could be better especially when "the rest" of breakfast is excellent

We - four adults plus 8 year boy - spent 11 days (May 25h to June 4th) in the resort. Very friendly and helpful personnel, perfect everyday care of every resort detail. The Ao Nang location with its tropical weather, kind people, excellent typical local restaurants serving typical local food was a perfect experience. Nice trips to surrounding beaches available for reasonable prices. We were a little bit afraid of expected May/June weather promising more rain but after a few starting days of rainy or not sunny days we had a nice sunny weather almost all days except a few several minutes short rains that in fact made us feel even better.

Close to Main Ao Nang beach resort strip & shops, but not right in the middle of it, no taxi required to go shopping. Quiet resort. Safe beach for kids.

Have to pay for in room safe, 50B /night, they do offer free safe at reception, manned 24hrs/day. Average breakfasts.

We stayed in a Garden bungalow, 5 rows back from the beach, still only a short walk to the beach; no street noise reached our bungalow. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The swimming pool has no shade at all, except of course umbrellas for the lounges, so you cannot laze in the pool for long. Beach chairs on beach great to relax under the trees with fabulous views out into the bay and islands. Breakfast not always the best, just fill in the form or complain and they seem to fix up next day, we only had breakfast in the restaurant as a result of the average food. We would stay again if going to Krabi. We stayed 7 nights with plenty to do in and around Ao Nang, go to Phi Phi, Railay Beach or do a day trip to Phang Nga to see James Bond Island & the floating village (cheap local farmed Pearls here, no ATM); barter for day trips in low season they will negotiate.

Restaurant Tip : Look for the little outdoor restaurant next to the Mini mart to he left of the Resort as you walk out of the resort entrance. Some refer to the restaurant as "The Two Fat Ladies", you'll know why when you find them closest to the Mini Mart, very very good food and good prices. Beachfront restaurants to the left of the resort, best we found was the fourth away from the resort, great Mussaman Curry.

Staff are very friendly and keen to make sure that you are happy with your stay. They treat each person as important and made you feel special

Breakfast is advertised as American but unless ask for omelette / eggs which the staff are very happy to provide once asked main food is Asian based rice dishes with croissants/toast/fruit being the other components.

The hotel has several types of accomodation from hotel rooms overlooking the pool, self contained vills on the hillside and individual bungalows/cabins along the bachfront. We booked a seaview cabin and when we arrived at 11am it wasnt ready however when we went to look it was the cabin that overlooked the beach bar not the beach itself(A6). When we pointed this out to the staff they were very happy to relocate us to another cabin with a beach view which actually had more facilities than the one originally given including a spa bath and dinig room. As this alternative wasnt ready unitl 3pm they allowed us to access a room to change and to leave our bags and were most keen that we were happy with the arrangements.Overall a nice resort with good access to several nearby resturants that are accesible by beach or road and and overlook the beach and brillant view providing well priced and beautiful seafood.

Travel tip : Beware of monkeys visiting resort at night they may remodel any clothes/ shoes left outside the bungalow units

Only resort with private beach Clean room and surroundings Breakfast at seafront Huge room

Room need a little refubishment to make it look more cosy

This resort is the only one at Ao Nang which has private beach, however, the room is average with the price that you need to pay. We stayed at Bungalow garden room (Choose 3rd row from the sea) If you like a little quietness, seafront + live outside the resort. This will be a good choice. However at Ao Nang, there are some other Boutique hotel (likeRed Ginger) which is much cheaper and has a nice pool. However, no sea front, you ahve to walk about 5 to 10 min to reach the beach. Plenty to eat and see nearby Krabi Resort. Rmb to try some local hawker food which is just right infront on the hotel.

Restaurant Tip : Try the local hawker food right in front of hotel and also a local noodle soup, 5 min walk from hotel (turn left) (near Kenneth house) some seafood rest. facing the andaman sea is also quite good as a dinner place.

Seafront, huge room

Expensive, room need some cosiness

4 of us stayed at Krabi Resort, 2 couple. We stayed at the Garden Bungalow (3rd row from seafront) We got lucky to be upgraded to a Deluxe bungalow with jacuzzi pool on the side of the bungalow. The Jacuzzi was excellent and provide a nice place for chat anytime of the day. not forgetting sitting there with a cold beer at nite. But don';t forget to bring your mosquito reppellent whenever you go. Krabi is full of insects. I came back with leg full of bites. Its a good place to laze on the lazy chair next to the beach and listen to the sound of the waves.. Good location for sunset watching too.

Hotel Feature Tip : Wonderful location to view sunset. No such need to walk far. walk towards the cliff of the resort.

Very good location, with a direct access to the beach (which is not that clean after all). Friendly staff.

Quality of the food served in the restaurant is really poor!

We stay there 3 nights. We booked two rooms beside each other. The rooms were okay - but nothing more than that. Bathroom and several amenities are a bit old. The location is very good. 5-minute walks to the main road with restaurants, shops and a direct access to the beach. The swimming pool is nice despite the fact that if you don't put your towel at 8:00 in the morning, you have basically no chance at all to have seat for the rest of the day! The management should set clear rules. We tried to have lunch once and dinner in the restaurant. If I could give an advice: only stick to the breakfast there and nothing else. Despite the fact we had a good time in Krabi.

Chairs right on the beach and great food stands right outside of the hotel

Breakfast was not the greatest but was sufficient, and the hot water was an issue (none when you used the shower - only when you used the tub - didn't make sense??) Bungalows need to be torn down and rebuilt

I booked a Deluxe Bungalow. When we first arrived, we were told that our bungalow had not yet been cleaned but that we could put our luggage in the room. When we opened the door to the bungalow it was pretty horrific. Things were taken off the walls, there was brown water in the tub and liquor bottles all over the place. I quickly requested a new bungalow or room. The staff was very accommodating and moved us to a luxury villa with no additional charge. The villa was 100 times better and was cleaned. I personally would recommend the villa or the hotel over the bungalows. To say they bungalows need an update is an understatement. They probably needed an update 10 years ago and then another now. My husband suggested they just tear them down and built new accomodations. The best part about the resort was that they were the only resort in Ao Nang with chairs on the beach. Definite bonus. Breakfast was ok, nothing spectacular. I usually had yogurt, fruit and a croissant. They did have an omelet station and some pancakes, french toast, but they were just ok. I would probably go again but book a villa, but there were also some other nice properties that I would consider looking into as well.

Restaurant Tip : Great food stands right outside the resort.

Nicely situated, beautifully landscaped with now mature plantings. Friendly staff. Located on the beach side of the main road. Good breakfast at the hotel restaurant on the beach.

The resort shows its age in some ways. A little expensive. Mosquitoes.

Krabi Resort is a very relaxed and relaxing place to get away from it all. While the hotel is now about 25 years old the resort seems to take great pains to keep it updated and in excellent physical condition. Its location right on the beach coupled with a friendly and helpful staff made for a very enjoyable stay. The only real negative was the large numbers of mosquitoes that rushed into your room if you left the door open but, at least in my room, a good quality net was provided and that largely took care of the problem. I would gladly stay at Krabi Resort again should the chance arise.

Travel tip : If you walk about a quarter mile north of the resort on the main road you will find an open air restaurant/bar constructed in tropical timber and with tables facing out to the bay with a nice breeze blowing in. The food is excellent and it's a lovely place to spend an hour or so on a hot afternoon, slowly savoring your brew of choice and taking in the splendid view. I believe it's called Luna Bar/Restaurant.

easy access to beach, decent grounds

Beach is not all that great or private. Kind of dirty. Rooms aren't always that clean or modern.

This hotel is a good bargain and in a great location, close to the strip of restaurants and the beach. However, the beach is not private and is not all that nice in general. Some of the rooms aren't very modern and the sheets were somewhat dirty. The breakfast is pretty good. Also they let us check in and out early which was a great perk. Overall I think it is worth it for the money, as long as your expectations are correct.

beautiful setting , with well tended gardens running down to it's own beach .

the only possible comment i could make to improve the delicious breakfast is to have a better selection of cereals , to include meusli , which is usually offered as a choice.

this is a very friendly and well run resort hotel.the staff were delightful, accommodation was spotless and of good standard and the catering of good quality. a problem with the plumbing in our bungalow was dealt with in an efficient and friendly manner by us being given a complementary upgrade. we hope to return to KRABI RESORT soon and would recommend it to anyone

Well located right on the beach, breakfast offered a good choice, landscaping of resort mature and attractive, service was good.

Our room was a little tired - in need of refurbishment, cleaning was not always up to standard, beach disappointing.

Whilst it was clean when we first arrived, the cleaning service thereafter was not always up to the expected standard. The bathroom in particular was in need of refurbishment. The swimming pool area was OK, although starting to look a little tired. We were disappointed that the beach was no where near as good as the other places we stayed (Railay Bay, Koh Lanta and Koh Samet) - it is very busy and noisy with the long tail boats going to and from and, in particular, the beach was covered in jelly fish which put us off swimming in the sea.

Good location on the beach. Lovely staff, particularly housekeeping.

Showing signs of age

Stayed here for 9 nights in a deluxe bungalow. These were not stand alone but shared a verandah with next door :( Airconditioning excellent and needed. The pool area was dated but clean and a nice area to chill out and have a massage. Breakfast offered good variety and it was lovely overlooking the water. The beach out the front is not suitable for swimming/sunbathing but down the other end is probably better for that. Location excellent for shopping / restaurants / exploring. We ate out everyday/night and there is a huge choice of both local stalls and good restaurants.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Need to take island trips (longboat or speed boat) for beautiful beaches, snorkeling etc
