Excellent choice recognizing these details - Read On
The good: - low rise, unobtrusive Thai resort style that fits in well with the surroundings; -small, quiet, uncrowded boutique feel; -quiet area but within walking distance to many local restaurants; - staff clearly goes above and beyond; - huge pool; -verandas lovely and provide extra room to stretch out; -good sized rooms with nice layout and very spacious bathrooms with large soaking tup and walk in shower; -nice restaurant deck for lunch and dinner almost directly on the water. -tide coming in and out of lagoon in front of hotel provided for nice changing view + great sunsets; Less good: -resort is showing its age and lack of upkeep; facilities are a bit tired. A handful of improvements would probably go along way to returning it to like new: 1. New shingles for roof: they're weathered and worn and this is the first glimpse you see of the resort as you pull in so it can be a letdown and first impressions are important; 2. Refinish the wood floors in the lobby. It's lovely wood but needs to be refinished. Again first impressions. Do the rooms too while you're at it. 3. Walkways need to be power washed and/or jazzed up; 4. Pool needs to be retiled or at least fixed where they have cracked or are missing their faces; 5. New mattresses for the veranda beds and lounge chairs. 6. Spot paint where blackish residue has a accumulated; -not great beach in front; have to walk down a bit but not far; -hotel should clean the trash that washes up in front of hotel every day; not the leaves and vegetation just trash; could do this in 30 minutes. They only did it once during the week we were there. Conclusion: relatively speaking this is an excellent option in Krabi for the price. The lack of upkeep is not unique to this hotel; it is common for Thailand. We visited other hotels in the area (including well known brands) and for the reasons mentioned in the good above we would go back despite the cons. Relaxed, quiet sanctuary
A comfortable, spacious and relaxed honeymoon stay for my husband and I. Food at the restaurant is good too. We recommend ordering the pizzas! The Salla Villa is nice, spacious and comes with an indoor bath tub which you can soak in at night and watch the stars. Friendly staff present at the resort to make your stay more comfortable Only drawback is that the location is not too near the walking streets. So you will need a cab to head out to the walking street and Ao Nang area for shopping and food. Right outside the resort, there are restaurants available too. Small marts are there too for u to stock up on snacks and drinks.

Thai massage, housekeeping, near to beach restaurants
I travel in Asia every few weeks and have been to Thailand 5 times this year. This resort is severely overrated. It is certainly not in the class of SLH. It needs serious updating in both the rooms (window shades were falling, stains on bathroom counters and other surfaces) and pool area (pool is missing many tiles, pool towels were threadbare and chair cushions were soiled). Breakfast was included so we ate there the first morning, but taking the poor quality and cold food as an example of future meals we did not eat there again. There are several beachside restaurants to choose from with very good Thai food as well as several across the street from the hotel. I could not possibly recommend this hotel particularly if you have discerning taste.
