- Excellent Service - Great Interior Design - Delicious Food - Beautiful landscaping

- the beach wasn't fantastic

this is an excellent hotel. And it definitely worth it for money. If you do not want a crowded beach like Ao Nang, I will definitely recommend you to stay at Nakamanda. The staffs there are very polite and courteous. We were delighted and impressed with their service. The food was very delicious. It was very clean and hygenic at the resort. The pool was awesome.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : - Go to Phi Phi Island=)

Personal, private atmosphere, small "villas" set in nicely manicured lush settings, comfortably equipped, even with two small stone-set aquariums in the bathroom area, good & complementary WIFI connection, excellent spa and restaurant service.

Direct beach access limited, but the excellent pool area is more than compensating.

We visited the Nakamanda during low season (May - October) with some rainy patches during the day. Still we enjoy the stay at the Nakamanda, sitting in the open (rain-protected) veranda area of our SalaVilla. The more developed beaches areas along AoNang are about 15km (= 10 miles) away and are accessible by taxi (private car). It should cost around 400 Baht each way. During the day time one may use also venture on to limited public transport. Finally, we were granted a complementary late check-out as our AirAsia flight left only around 6:50 pm.

Hotel Feature Tip : Booking the Nakamanda with Agoda's reservation service worked nicely, even when we had to change our schedule slightly, we received an instant confirmation.

Personalized staff attentiveness to every need.

The owner asked me what he can improve. I really struggle to think of what to improve beyond perfection.

The parents love Nakamanda. The kids love Nakamanda. We stayed twice in 2009; in April and October. What we love: Huge sand lagoon at low tide where we can catch crabs with our kids, fish for the kids to feed in the moat around the restaurant, personalized staff attentiveness, gorgeous rooms, excellent quality food with wide variety for adults and kids, the freshest prawns on the menu direct from the owner's family's prawn farm.

Shopping Tip : Cheap laundry across the street. The only nearby worthwhile cheap massage is 2 doors to the left outside the hotel main entrance. Other hotel guest report satisfaction with the inhouse Nakamanda spa that charges 6 to 8 times street price.

The layout and design of the property slowly reveals itself. And you can only appreciate it's full beauty once you tour the property. Each room is it's own private "bungalow" or condo. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and minimalist in design. All paths lead to the private beach and palatial pool area. The staff is very attentive, but not overly present.

The food at the hotel's restaurant we're quite up to the standard of other hotels on our trip. Nothing was bad, but nothing was too exciting either.

The Nakamanda was a wonderful little oasis outside of Krabi. It's about a 20 minute drive from Ao Nang (500 baht for a taxi). However, it's in the middle of a small village which has some great restaurants, bars and massasge parlors. The truth is, there is little reason to leave the Nakamanda while you are there. The staff, accomadations, and surroundings make you feel like a king. The area is beautiful, it's secluded and private, and the hotel really feels like a private home more than a hotel.

Travel tip : If you like Indian Cuisine, dine at the Royal Clay Oven, just down the street. It is excellent! Make use of the free kayak rental to explore the little island just of shore of the private beach. The Nakamanda is a 20 minute drive from Ao Nang (a tourist beach and shopping destination), therefore it is close enough for day trips, but far enough to feel isolated.

Nakamanda is the most beautiful hotel in the world - a true hidden gem! It's a perfect honeymoon destination. However, if you are looking for a lively party nightlife - best to stay in Ao Nang.

Restaurant Tip : The chef at the hotel restaurant (which is called 'the Kitchen') is exceptional. The food at Nakamanda is superb and very reasonably priced - there is no point going out of the hotel to eat when you can dine in style at the Nakamanda!

EVERYTHING!!! - Staff, Room, Food, Spa, Location. We absolutely loved it!

We had to eventually leave!!!! Seriously though I would have to nitpick and its not worth doing for the experience we had!

What a fantastic place!!! I could go on forever and sing the praises of this place. We arrived to a friendly greeting, cool drink and effortless checkin. Their philosophy is to make you feel like family and they totally succeeded in this regard. The whole atmosphere of the place is one of calm and serenity. The staff are softly spoken and efficient, the food was amazing, the decor is traditional Thai, the resort itself makes you feel like you are in a rainforest cabin. We were fortunate enough to have the whole resort to ourselves as its off season. Considering what we were looking for this was a bonus. The services at the spa were to die for: Thai massage, oil massage, steam room, foot massage, body scrub, facials - my wife and I enjoyed them all. I cant say enough about the food - we couldn't be bothered with going out to other places as it was just too good and convenient to eat at the resort all the time. The deep Fried Sea bass I had on the second night just blew my mind - Amazing!!!! My wife and I did indeed feel like family by the time we left and it was very sad to go. They provided the resort car for our trip to the airport and were escorted by one of the staff as well as driver for the trip. They even took our bags all the way to checkin for us. Yes we are going back and within six months. What more can I say - its amazing!!!!!

Hotel Feature Tip : The atmosphere of this place just has to be experienced. Its just too hard to describe in words. Stunning!!!

Excellent hotel I ever lived. Nakamanda is one of the small luxuary hotel in the world. It is not a very large hotel, but beautiful as a garden near the sea. we are so satisfied and impressed with everything of this hotel, comfortable room, excellent service, beautiful surranding of the restaurant, naga spa, living room, reading room, and the food is so good in its restaurant. Really a good choice for our honeymoon. we love it and definitely will stay there again next time we visit Krabi. Though the beach is not as good as we expect, it is full of fun, thousands of crabs there.

The Glass rooftop where the bath tub is brings so much light and brightness to the room. I love it. I love the wooden floor and wooden bathroom. The room is always clean and smells fresh. The great attention to detail in all aspects of the room, the colour scheme etc. I will definately come back to enjoy the nature scenery, exceptional staff and great food. Even though i came at the wrong time, as it is a raining season and i cannnot dive, i was happy to relax and read my book. DVD player is a major plus!!!!

It is quite far from the city, hence transport is required to go to places like Ao Nang. It will be great if the hotel has a dive shop themselves. However, the friendly staff will help you to get to the city and make sure you are safe.

This hotel is really value for money with great staff, beautiful scenery, great food with clean and beautiful rooms. Sitting on the balcony for my breakfast each morning, looking at the green scenery of trees and plants, hearing the waves of the sea and some insects, it is just the way to relax for your holiday. I will definately go back to this hotel again.

this was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. it was reasonably priced, the staff was BEYOND accommodating, the decorations and fittings were just beautiful

There is no 'white sand' beach, but we had so much fun in the (free) kayaks that we didn't mind. If you're looking for sunbathing, stick to the pool

I'll be back. We took son and daughter in law and they had the villa next to us which I think was just perfect. As other reviews, we went outside the front gate for a 250baht massage, and also for food (bad), but it was nice to have that option. The hotel restaurant was VERY reasonable and again, the atmosphere and the wait staff were out of our dreams!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Elephant riding for over an hour nearby. 800baht. All day island tour also very nice

During the stay with my wife at the Nakamanda Resort & Spa, it was so relaxing, we enjoyed very much the beautiful spacious room, excellent food served in the hotel. We also tried the spa in the hotel, because of low season we only paid 2 for 1 and service was so great!!!

Very nice Boutique hotel, elegantly furnished and decorated Villas. Attentive staff. Excellent kitchen and menus. (A-la-carte breakfast and dinner menu)

This was my first visit to Krabi and I am glad I found and stayed this Resort. After a pleasant 30 min. drive by taxi from the airport I was greeted with a very warm welcome by the very attentive staff. The resort is nicely laid out over three/four levels down to the beach. The Villas are located between lush and tropical vegitation. Room design & decoration is modern and high class. The private beach is very accessible much nicer and private than the beach in front of the nearby Sheraton. Enjoyed the atmosphere in the resort as it is serene and relaxed. Food is delicious. Alternatives to dine exist outside the hotel. Free wireless internet access in the room completed the already perfect picture. I will definitely return!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Definitely plan for a boat trip to Hong Island to see the tropical fish directly from the resort. Other tours can be arranged by the hotel staff.

Excellent service. Beautiful rooms.

Gym needs improvement. neither the cycle nor treadmill was working

Beatiful location. Spacious and well appointed room. Restaurant also excellent with ggod food and lovely views over the sea. There was a bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us on arrival and they made a birthday cake for me when they realised it was my birthday. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff are knowledgeable about the surrounding area and happy to suggest and arrange activities. We would definitely stay there again when we go to Krabi. The only drawback may be for people without a car - the hotel is quite a distance from Ao Nang and Krabi town.

Restaurant Tip : The beach restaurant along the bay from Nakamanda makes good Thai food at reasonable prices considering it lies between Nakamanda and the Sheraton.

Everything! Rooms, views, staff, food...

Maybe an extended food list would be good.

We wanted to get away from everything for 10 days and found the Nakamanda online. We can't recommend this hotel enough and we have stayed in a few. It really was the most enjoyable 10 days we have had in a long time. You feel pampered from start to finish, the food is excellent [although could be a more extensive menu] and the rooms are excellent. Finally, a special mention for the staff, you actually feel that they genuinly care about your stay. Can't wait to go back!

Restaurant Tip : If you are looking for a different selection of restaurants then there is a local thai food just outside but you can also get the car to the main area of Krabi were they have excellent local seafood.
