Set directly opposite the beach, the location is prime. On the downside the rooms are modest. I had a ground floor room near the pool - very pleasant except for the mosquitoes and the foul sewage smell coming out of the bathroom. Breakfast was OK but you need to get there before the rush as it takes forever to restock. All in all its Ok for a few days but there is probably better around. The front desk staff and room maids were very good however the staff in the restaurant and the bar were very "casual".

Nice hotel and good location

We stayed in the superior room, which had a lovely spa kit on our arrival, complimentary. The bath was in the bedroom so you can watch TV while soaking in the bath, which was nice. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. However, the breakfast was not that great. We stayed there for 4 nights and we had the same breakfast every day.

Aning Restaurant near the beach was great!

hotel is nice. Parking is limited, room for about 4 cars maximum. Food for the buffet was average. Room was very nice and had alot of charm. Hotel is starting to show its age a bit but still a nice place to stay. Beach and shopping is very close. If you want to take the ferry to Railly beach its about 20 meters from the hotel and can pick up tickets for 200 baht round trip. Rooms had internet and coffee along with a mini bar if you want extra items. Overall I would give the hotel a 7 out of 10 and would stay here again. Its a bit overpriced for Thailand but still a bargain compared to the west.
Restaurant Tip:
some seafood places right on the beach to the north about 500 meters. Easy walk there. Great place to watch the sunset and have dinner. Prices are about 2 times normal but your paying for the view.

Great location but poor wifi connection

The location is perfect and staffs are all friendly and helpful. The breakfast is the same everyday but the taste still not so bad. One thing can be improved is the wifi connection. We stayed at beach wing 2nd floor. The wifi signal was very weak and even if connected it may not work. At last I figured out that were 2 ip address ranges being used: 192.168.1.xx and 192.168.55.xx. If we were connected to 192.168.1.xx, it will never work. Only 192.168.55.xx works fine. On top of that you still need to ask for the access login name and password to access the internet. One good thing wa that there are 2 PC in the mini library which can use for surfing the net.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Book from the local tour agent around the Ao Nang area. The price is 200-300bath cheaper than the online booking rate.
For the kayaking tour, half day is good enough. the full day tour will bring you to a small river for swimming in the afternoon after the lunch which is not interesting at all.

Fine hotel - bad breakfast

I was unimpressed. The tour person had no idea what I was talking about and ended up putting me on the phone with the dive shop (which was fine and definitely easier). Getting more than 2 towels was problematic (we are girls, we need a towel for body and one for hair) they questioned us when we asked for two more towels - which was just weird. At breakfast they did not cover the food at the egg station and there were bugs visibly crawling all over the ham, peppers and cheese - they covered the scrambled egg mix at least. All the buffet "hot" food was cold. The pool, while lovely is completely in the shade so no sun bathing. Front desk staff was amazingly friendly. This is on the beach which is nice and located in a nice central spot in Ao Nang.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Don't stay here.
