Lovely beach and friendly staffs

I have stayed at the privacy cottage. Its room is spacious and the attach bathroom is clean. I do feel the privacy and the staffs are very friendly. There is a variety of food to choose from; be it local or western.
I have enjoyed the sunsets while having our dinner, The sea breeze blown our tiredness away and it's so refreshing.
I will certainly re-visit Railay with my wife again.

Couldn't really fault it .
Only thing was it could do with an espresso machine and some decent coffee.

Best on Railay West
Good stay with a nice pool area

We stayed 4 nights at this lovely resort. The stuff are friendly and helpful. The pool area is fantastic. The restaurant has a good menu and the prices are ok. The breakfast is good. Railay west has a good beach.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take short walk from Railay East to Phrang Beach. Or take a tour to the 4 islands. Do snorkling and walk on the beach. Get a private boat. For party or more action go to Railay East. There are more bar and restaurants. Many backpackers to make friend with.

Isolated from mainland hence good opportunity to rest.

Online images of Railay Bay Resort & Spa looked great but the actual resort did not live up to it. I wrote to customer service asking how to get to it as it's away from the mainland but got no response. On the day of arrival we took an airport taxi that took us to Ao Nang. The boat ride cost us a whopping 800 Baht. Had we received a response by Railay we'd have gone to Ao Nang Muang and gotten across for 200 Baht. The boat rides were thus an unexpected cost.
The resort looked somewhat run down on arrival. There were lots of flies at the restaurant and mosquitoes in our room. Service was acceptable. Meals at the restauramt were also acceptable.

arrived to hotel from krabi in the afternoon and wasn't aware the hotel has transit arrangement. if i knew, i wouldn't have to carry my bags to and from the boat in the actual sea and mud.
arrived to the hotel to the delux cottage and because i had some issues with the room (some smell and safety box not openning) was upgraded to the "privacy cottage".
the upgrade totally worth it because the room is much bigger and you have your own private yard with jacuzzi and bathing beds. because you don't really have what to do in railay, you'll spend a lot of time in hotel so it better to get a good room!
note: no hot water in jacuzzi, only cold, but still fun.
the room could have been cleaner (some ants in bathroom) but overall it was great.
the breakfast was typical, same i got in all of thailand, but the fact you sit really "on the water" when u eat was a great experience. also, you have a great fish bbq for dinner there- recommended.
the pool next to the beach was fun including a 50% off happy hour in the pool bar.
overall- highly recommended!
Restaurant Tip:
The "last bar" on the east beach has great food and nice massage place.
