they should get rid on the bug ponds.. the internet is not included with the rooms and you can't get a signal in most of the hotel
we stayed in one of the pool suites, i would recommend not staying in a jucuzzi they are wirlpool bathhtubs and and these rooms have a pond out in front of them that seems to be a breeding ground for bugs.. we spoke with a couple that was planning on leaving because of the bugs in there room.. but like i said the pool suite was great.. if you're a day tripper do yourself a favor and take a day to explore the area.. also don't be suprised if one of the stops on your day trip is the beach on the other side of the hotel..one thing that really upset me was the lack of internet access.. you had to go to a internet cafe next to the hotel if you wanted to check your email... however if you have a cell phone that you can plug into your laptop for internet the monthly unlimited is 1000baht and is pretty fast and worked everywhere that i went
Hotel Feature Tip : i can't intentionally stay at a hotel that doesn't provide internet for it's guests

Nice bathrooms, nice atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, clean spacious rooms
restaurant was too pricey
The hotel staff were all nice and attentive and spoke good English. When I got stung by the Jelly fish, they took care of it immediately by putting vinegar and somekind of local plant on my foot. Railay itself was too touristy for my taste but the hotel was very nice. I would stay again if I were to go to Railay.
Restaurant Tip : Railay was abit expensive...

- Quite and private beaches
- Nice Sunken Bath in the room
- Unfriendly front desk staff
- Room is not entirely clean, bathroom with stain
- Spider web at some corners
Access to the hotel by Long tail boat was a little troublesome but fun experience as our luggage had to be carried to the shore in a knea high water before we could board the long tail boat. Upon arrival, we found the front desk staff to be unfriendly and took a while to check us in to the room. Unluckily, the first room that we checked in was without the "Day bed" and they had to change us to another room. Unfortunately, the bathroom for the new room wasn't clean and we had to request the hotel to send their cleaner to clean it up but it took them almost 1 hour to send in the cleaner! Overall experience - not very pleasant for a relaxing vacation.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Pranang Bay is a quite beach within around 15-20 mins walk around another corner behind the hotel.

nicely designed room & very easy access to beautiful west railay beach
poorly maintained swimming pools & limited menu
the resort is nicely arranged around 2 swimming pools, but both were very murky during our 2 day stay. Both had a slick of oil which made swimming unpleasant. However, the jacuzzi in the room and the great beaches made up for that! This is a muslim run hotel, so there is no alcohol available in mini bar or in the restaurant. Despite the fact that you can bring your own.
Restaurant Tip : cheaper restaurants are mostly on east railay; better quality food (but no alcohol) on west railay

Great buffet breakfast, hotel very clean, service good, restaurant meals reasonably price for area. Our room was beautiful, fully supplied with bathroom needs, plenty of towels, fresh fruit daily. Staff willing to assist despite language barriers.
Nice Hotel to stay at on Railay Beach, our room with Jacuzzi was divine. All amenities including pool were serviced daily and well maintained. Staff were happy to assist when required. Alcohol cannot be purchased in the Hotel, although we were encouraged to buy from the Bar next door and take to the restaurant.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take a walk to the East along the paths and walk all the way to the beach...............beautiful part of the island.

Great location, great facilities
Service not that good. Do not expect the same service and smileys that you get in other places of Thailand.
Nice base point from which you can make day trips to nearby islands (like Phi Phi group of islands, Chicken Island, Bambu Island) that have wonderful white beaches and crystal clear water. Nice views too!
Also great snorkeling. There ar eplenty of tours available at the hotel and in the "village", as well as right at the beach.
Lastly, if you don't want to wet your feet and carry the luggage on the sand, better arrange transfer to the hotel with the Princess Hotel. This is a hotel on the other side of the bay that offers transfers services for the same price.

location on the beach, relatively clean
(1) Stagnant ponds outisde rooms and standing water are needless mosquito bredding grounds. (2) not all that cheap for Thailand, (3) breakfast is poor quality,
Hotel is best described as very average. Not terrible at anything and not good at anything either. Location on the beach is very convenient, and rooms are clean enough, but it's not exactly what you would call luxurious and for the price in thailand you can usually get a better standard. Having said that Krabi is more expensive due to the shortgage of nice hotels so you expect that to some extent. Staff are generally reluctant to help (or often even acknowledge that you exist) unless pushed into it. Breakfast was pretty dire but the evening food and BBQ fish was quite good, if plain. Not a bad choice if in Krabi on a budget but keep your expectations in check.

Clean and ample size of room.
Location and nice passage route between east and west of Railay.
Moss and mosquito in the room,
Breakfast table with many ants and mosquito
Not good priced Spa.
Having Food with fighting Mosquito
To improve this hotel, if I were a manager, use organic anti insect reppelment in the early morning everyday. Good and clean room, one of the best location in the beach. Better to take spa room it is far roomy than pool villa. Pools are two but very narrow and small.
Restaurant Tip : Better to dine at East Railay food area...8 min walk...

The hotel is in the nice part of the island. 45 mins to PP island from speed boat. But there are 4 islands (Chicken island, Poda island, Tup island) near by which have nice beaches and good for snokelling. The room is really spacious and in perfect condition. The hotel staff is very helpful and in good hospitality.

Large rooms, great pools, efficient room service.
Customer service needs improvement.
This is a hotel which has been well planned and built but needs better training of staff. The facilities are excellent, especially the spacious rooms and pool areas. However, the management seem to have found the least happy people in all of Thailand to staff their resort. With the exception of one or two, the staff were characterized by frowning faces and less than enthusiastic interactions with their clients. After spending the entire night on a plane, I arrived on the hotel's ridiculously overpriced transfer service, to be told that I could not get into my room until 2 p.m. There was no offer of a place to change into beach gear, no offer to try and get me into a room earlier, even though they knew I would be arriving at 1030 in the morning before I got there: in short, no interest in my plight at all. And this was my introduction to the resort...not a strong start at all. At the end of my stay, when I was kicked out of my room at 11 a.m., they did allow that I could use the spa showers to change before leaving for my flight which was not until late afternoon. I wondered why they hadn't offered me the same deal on arrival. And, since Railay is a beach, and not much else, swimming is the main attraction; you can't really go shopping while your bags sit at reception. I finally left early to Ao Nang.
The root of the problem seems to be the snails pace at which rooms are cleaned...I would return to my room at 430 and it would not have been cleaned yet. In fact, the room was only cleaned once in my 5 day stay, since they never managed to get to it before I returned from my day at the beach. I have no idea why the staff could not clean the rooms more efficiently; it is not a large resort.
The room service was contrastingly efficient and the food was decent and well priced. Breakfast was okay, if not what I would expect from a resort with this kind of price tag.
In general, the buildings are first rate, but the service is more along the lines of what I would expect
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Railay beach is too shallow. The next beach over is beautiful, but very busy, both with daytrippers and really annoying hawkers. It is best visited in the late afternoon when all of these people have vacated, and only a few swimmers and sunbathers remain.

Location was amazing and the hotel was first class
They pretend like the credit card machine is broken. Don't buy it!
Overall, this place was spectacular. You feel like you are in the movie The Beach. The island has its own little community. As for the resort,I couldn't of asked for a nicer place. We felt like we were living like kings. The service was amazing and the sophisitication of the resort was beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing gettaway.
Shopping Tip : Go to Ao Nang at night. Shops are open late and it is cooler weather. Save the day for the beach and sun

West side, beautiful grounds and pool, great food, friendly staff, great rooms.
Pricey spa, no asisstance carrying bags from water to reception.
Getting to Railay Village Resort requierd us to carry our bags through knee deep water at Ao Nang and tehn to carry them onto the beach and drag them throught the sand. Luckily resort is central and directly in front of the area boats pull up in. The beach is awe inspiring with its huge cliffs and idyllic water. We were greeted with a welcome drink and cool towels at check-in. OUR badgs were carried to our room which was at the back of the resort, only a 2minute walk to the beach. It was nice feeling a little more seculded at the back there away from the going on of the beach. The gtrounds were lovely and we could walk out of our room and slip into the beautiful pool. The room was nice and teh TV had a good choice of pay TV channels. Teh fruit basket was replaced everydy which was nice. The food at the resorts restaurant we felt was the best on the west side, and the waiters were very friendly. The restaurant sat directly on teh beach front for views of those spectacular cliffs. Breakfasts were beautiful. Our room often had a smell of sewrage. The generatr goes off at 10, which means there was no power after that point, which we did not find a problem.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Tours, shopping and all you could need can be found a 2 minuet walk from the resort. We went to Flame Throwers Bar also a 2 minuet walk, at happy hour every night to sit on their mats on the beach, sip cocktails and enjoy the amazing sunsets. Locals also all came out to play soccer and volley ball at this time producing a nice atmosphere. There is not the live music, yoga, etc that one finds in the more backpacker vibe of the east side but we enjoyed the atmosphere on the west. WE did a great snorkelling trip that also included a picnic dinner on a deserted island to watch the sunset and swimming in the phosperencence visible at night. We were recommended to do teh trek to visit a lagoon in the middle of the island. This turned out to be a full on rock climbing expereince, where you relied on ropes tied to the cliff to climb. There is a good reason that the sign says no thongs (flip flops). Appropriate clothing and maybe some experience with rock climbing would be recommended. We did not finish it, but the lagoon we did glimpse seemed worth the effort. THere is a bach with a cave in it (Parang Beach or something) that we stumbled on that was quite beautiful and worth a day trip. There were lots of peole selling food, IT is only a 25 minute walk from the resort, although some people got long tail boats there.

Jacuzzi. Huge room. Quiet.
This was the most relaxing destination on our trip. Railay has no roads, cars or bikes - which was perfect for us after Phuket. The hotel suite was huge - much more space than we needed. It included a large Jacuzzi room with a flat screen tv and dvd player. The area is very quiet even though it is reletively close to a couple beach bars that play music. I never heard anyone / thing at night.
The only downside was that the Jacuzzi took about an hour to fill. I'm not sure if this was just our problem, or if everyone experiences it. The second night we just started the water and left for a few drinks before returning to a nearly full tub.
The lobby staff is very helpful and can arrange boat travel and other excursions.
Travel tip : Walk to the nearby Phra Nang Beach if you want softer sand and an even better view.

no alcohol served in the restaurant...howveer, some ten steps away there was a bar where you could bring your Singha to your meal without any complaints...
Wonderful location. Staff very attentive and helpful. Ask for a Spa Villa 1001, 1002 or 1015 and it will be very close to the pool and the beach. Enjoy the wonderful sunset at Railey Beach West. The east side is very muddy and not very pleasant. Railay Beach west is wonderful but is easy to walk to Phra Nang Beach which is really one of Thailands beach gems. We were 100% satisfied with our choice.
Hotel Feature Tip : Wonderful sunset at Railay Beach West...close walk to Phra Nang Beach

Rooms were nice enough. great location
The front desk people were not attentive at all, the food wasn't great.
When we arrived, we were immediately disapointed. The beach is loud, crowded and the water is quickly turning brown from the polution. This hotel is one of only a few options in the area and none of the other options looked much better. The rooms were nice, but had some major design flaws. Housekeeping didn't even leave toilet paper. When we checked out, they said we ate chocolate from the fridge, which we did not. The poor lady at the front said that if we didn't sign a letter saying that they made an error, then her boss would charge her for the chocolate. It seems like the management is the problem here. The area smells like raw sewage. Not at all the paradise we had imagined.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go see the Phi Phi islands. It's not worth spending your time here.
