Not even 1 year old so very new.
Staff seemed very unorganised and not very accomodating at all.
Hotel has a very modern look and has a very concrete feel about it. Not the feeling you expect for a beach holiday.
I would not recommend this hotel. Not that it was exceptionally poor more that I'm sure you could find something nicer. The hotel had a cold feeling to it, which may have to do with the exposed concrete look for the building interior. Staff seemed disorganised and unaccomodating, for example to order room service you had to leave your room and walk to the kitchen where you couldn't pay for your meal or add to your tab, you had to pay cash when delivered to your room which took 45 minutes and was cold and expensive. Ordering a cocktail from the bar meant running to find a blender and checking the menu for the ingredients. I would recommend staying further south at Railey Beach or at one of the bays south of Ao Nang. On the plus side it did have a nice bathroom and a large, fantastic shower head. The beds were also very comfortable and you have cable tv with a new flat screen tv on the wall.
Travel tip : Only costs $1AUS for a tuk tuk to the main strip at Ao Nang or a short 10 minute walk. Can catch a long tail boat directly opposite to get to a nearby island or to Railey Beach.

great pool area, helpful staff, walking distance to shops and restaurants, tourist booking desk on site, opposite beach
pool bar closed each day just before happy hour or any time it rained
Sala Talay is one of the newest resorts in Ao Nang and we found it to be very good value for money. Everything was fresh and clean and the hotel/airport transfers were excellent. Resort is within easy walking distance to Ao Nang township with its shops and many restaurants catering for all tastes. There is an on-site tour booking desk with prices that compare favourably to others downtown. Food in the restaurant was very good and we would definitely recommend this resort to anyone travelling to the area.

Beatiful rooms and pool area
The hotel was perfectly located for us – just far enough away from the busy strip of Ao Nang to ensure peace and quiet but close enough to walk into the action. The hotel was kept beautifully clean and the pool access room we had was amazing. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Catch a longtail boat to Railay Beach for teh day and climb to the lagoon (if you are feeling fit).
