Great location, good value

i stayed 4 nights in a standard fan bungalow. the location is directly on the beach. the bungalow was standard with mini fridge, complimentary bottled water, tv - was good enough for me - i do not like a/c so fan was okay. the bungalows and entire property is very well maintained. maintenace, concierge, housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. buffet breakfast was included - it is great! - a lot of variety. i ate dinner there 3 nights and the food was reasonably priced and okay in terms of quality. wait staff seemed consistently unhappy.
from the airport - it easy to get to the resort - i paid baht (total - 200 for a shared taxi to ao nang, and 100 b for a longtail boat that took me directly to west railey beach) the hotel pick up service from the airport quoted to me was 1300 b - very expensive.
the bungalows in the "100" room number series (particularly 101 to 107) are adjacent to another resort's kitchen and rooms. the original bungalow they put me in this area was smelled like sewage and was very noisey (beside the large outdoor a/c condensor). the front desk staff changed my bungalow on request without hestiation.
overall very good experience and great location. cost at adjacent resorts is double the price for similar value.

5-10 minute walk to east Raleigh and the gorgeous Phra Nang beach

really enjoyed railay beach, railay area is quite small but lots of resturants and bars to enjoy and enough to do for a 5 day stay, then move on. climbing is rife in railay. many resturants and bars to enjoy good food and drinks. partying is available for people who like the nightlife.
hotel was nice i stayed in a fan room, which was ok, but if you feel the heat get the ac room, as it is better after a hot day outside.
kyacking is great if not to windy as can be a bit choppy therefore strenous. do the afternoon snorkeling trip with various stops for snorkeling and a barbque on the beach followed by a quick night snorkle on the way back in the dark, amazing.
Restaurant Tip:
Many nice resturants, the first in west railay walking street the fire tree, good food for westeners. A nice barbeque resturant east railay at the end where you can get western and thai food, very good. And Moms kitchen east railay where you can get great thai food, thai resturant style and cheaper! Amazing taste also!

My second stay here. Lovely bungalows with all the mod cons.
I would reccomend Sand sea Resort to all travelers. Best location and resonable price considering where it is.
Hotel Feature Tip:
You will need to buy your beer outside of the hotel and keep in your own fridge as the do not sell any alchol on site. restaurant food is very good espically the Massaman curry

i was recommended to sand sea by a friend of mine and was not dissapointed. breakfast on the beach was my highlight words can not describe how beautiful it is here. the rooms were fantastic and the pool was just perfect. sand sea resort was a perfect get away in a true paradise. i would encourage anyone to stay here.

the hotel is nice in a great location just off the best beach in the area. the fan bungalows were a bit disapointing - dark and not to the standard of finish i had expected. that is not to say they were bad though. they are more expensive than other accomodation in the area. the cooked breakfasts weren't great but when you eat it looking at the amazing scenery it doesn't really matter.

I was in a hurry to book a hotel in the area and did not realize until we arrived from the airport to the transfer point at Tonsi that we would have to take a twenty minute longtail boat ride to the beach where the hotel is situated. It would have been easier to plan with the proper shoes for jumping in and out of boats into knee deep water. It was also pouring down rain when we arrived and I was worried about camera gear, notebook computers, etc. getting soaked. We stayed three nights which was okay but for the same money I would recommend staying on Ao Nong beach and being near all the bars, restaurants and shopping areas. That being said, the beach here is really nice and the breakfast area looks out over it so if you want serenity it would be hard to beat.
Hotel Feature Tip:
If you schedule an island tour with the local longtail boat drivers it is very convenient to just walk out of your bungalow and down to the beach and hop on the boat and go.

when we arrived we stayed at a hotel on the other side of railay beach first (railay east) but then we wanted to stay on the proper beach side so we went looking for another hotel and found the sand sea resort. it is reasonably priced and has a great selection for breakfast. staff are very friendly and helpful and the reception is open 24/7. they have free wifi but only in the lobby and pool area.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Tour boats leave right in front of the hotel every morning

there are only a few resorts on west railey where the beach is best for swimming. but the railey beach club is still the best place on nang cape.
Nightlife Tip:
Go to East Railey to party.
