RIght on the Beach

Great well maintained location right on the beach with clean, large rooms. Nice pool although beach chairs are somewhat limited. Breakfast was OK but missed having eggs, bacon and sausage. Didn't eat in the restaurant as better food value can be found on the other side of Rallay (10 minute walk). Would definitely consider Sand Sea if we return to this area.

Best Value on West Railay Beach. Nice private cottage with good functioning hot tub. Staff could use some work on just being friendly at least. Breakfast was pretty good. Pool nice and right on the beach. AC went out one night but expect those things with an older unit.

a decent hotel on a lovely beach

a generally nice place to stay. We ordered and additional bed but it was not in the room when we arrived and it took them a while to bring it. Once it arrived it was so uncomfortable that we ended up not using it. Apart from that we had a pleasant stay. Restaurant was pretty good and the location was much better than many of the resorts and hotels which were located on the Mangrove side of the Railey. The free upgrade but also a nice bonus
Nightlife Tip:
It's a pretty quiet place to visit. The "Last Bar" is probably the most upbeat night spot around.

Good resort

I thought this place was fantastic. My two friends and I were looking for a quiet relaxing place to stay for a few nights and this place was perfect. It was really cheap, clean, great location and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was amazing and the staff were helpful. I would stay here again for sure

Krabi is not really a beach vacation kinda place

Not a bad place. Didn't see any other reviewers mention that the hotel doesn't seem to sell any alcohol. We brought our own to the bungalow and put it in the fridge.
One other funny thing happened. We got a free upgrade to A/C rooms for staying 2 nights. We wanted to stay a 3rd night and asked if we could keep the rooms at the same price. They said we had to stay 2 nights (which we just did) to get the free upgrade. I said we only had one night, they shrugged, we checked out. This is in early October (low season), it's not as though they were full and this was a sensible business decision.

Best value for money at raily beach
very close to the beautiful beach, nice stuff and good deals if you stay a few days.

we are a couple who like quiet and nice places and raily beach is the best place in thailand just for that.
when we arrived to the area we checked 4 hotels and found out that the best money for value and comfort is at the sand sea resort. we enjoyed our stay there and we recommend it.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
travel in the nerbay beaches, its a very beautiful place and its crowded with free animals such as monkeys and gibbons.

Great Stay at railay beach

We were totally satisfied with this hotel and was shocked that it was so nice considering it was one of the cheapest on Agoda. It has a nice beach out front of it, breakfast was good (mostly western food) staff were helpful when we needed them, had a nice swimming pool.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
All the rock climbing companies share each others ropes once they're all set up, so do the rounds first and see what price each one will give you and for how long. To be honest if you are a beginner like me you will only be able to handle a couple of hours. Then go get a massage :)

Getaway from the madness of everyday life

This resort suited our requirements perfectly, we require a clean quite room with a comfortable bed to sleep in. We like to have the possibility to choose where and when we eat (no all inclusive for us), and Sand Sea / Railey beach offers that, but as it happens we ended up eating 10 out of 12 nights in the resort, because the food was good.
The staff can be put into two categories, the very well manered and friendly group and the detached uninterested group. The latter group got smaller the longer we stayed, so it could be the shyness and insecurity of this group that comes accross as a lack of service mindedness.
