Very beautiful landscape making it seem you are in the middle of a forest. Wonderful service and stay.
Mosquitoes were a plenty but what can you expect in a lush atmosphere
I would stay here again, wonderful service, 5 mins from beach, clean room, happy hosts.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : just down the road is the beach where you can hire private boats and guides. Better and cheaper than using tours sold at hotel.

1. Nice room and pool
2. The hotel serve halal food since the owner is a Muslim
3. Superb location - near to eateries, bazaar for shopping and minutes walk to the beach
4. Cool and pretty surroundings
5. Daily complimentary fruits
1. No kettle provided for superior room.. difficult for me who travel with a small kid when I need to boil water to prepare the milk.
2. The room not properly clean despite of having a room service
3. The hotel was in the middle of renovation when we arrived.. hence it's not so welcomed when the lobby is under renovation.
We booked a superior room and the room looks exactly like the photos appear in agoda.com. We are so please with the ambiance and friendly staff. Starbucks, McD and 7-11 are right across the street and it's easy to get cheap and delicious halal food from the stalls. Minutes walk to the shopping heaven and Ao Nang beach.
I would really recommend others to stay at Somkiet Buri Resort especially if u are Muslims. Make sure u include the breakfast when booking the room - the food is halal!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : survey around on ground tour (they have many tourist info outlet that offer trips to suits u/ur family's need).. bargain for discounts. My recommendation - trip to 4 islands by Koh Phi Phi Tour. Exciting and fun trip, from 9am-3pm (not too tiring when u hv kids around) tasty, halal lunch provided.

Beautiful setting, away from the main road, large spacious rooms, quiet.
Rooms are a little dated, spa is overpriced, power and lighting console in the rooms was all weird so it was difficult (and at times impossible) to turn on lights, TV etc.
We really enjoyed our time at Somkiet Buri. The setting is magnificent, with spectacular views of the cliffs from the jungle setting. The rooms are located along wooden walkways through the 'jungle', centred around a nice pool area. Also, it's set back from the main road which mean it's well sheltered from the noise of the streets. Only a quick walk to the beach and the centre of Ao Nang, and and there's plenty of shops and stalls right outside the entrance.
We got our room at a great rate due to the time of year we went. I'm not sure if it would ordinarily be worth the full rate or not. We felt like we got great value for money, as this is a real oasis amongst hustle and bustle of the busy Ao Nang area, but if you were paying full rates, the rooms are a little dated now and the electrical wiring was all over the place! Sometimes we couldn't get lights to turn on at all, or turning on the TV would turn on the bathroom light instead, and so on. It was weird! The setting probably makes up for it all, though, and the rooms are still large and perfectly serviceable, with all facilities including cable TV, mini bar, separate and spacious bathroom and a beautiful balcony to sit out on and soak up the setting with a drink or two. It's probably just if you want the very latest, you may get something a bit newer for the same money. Didn't bother us at all though.
With such an abundance of massage and spa places just a few metres out on the streets, I really don't know how some of these places justify their spa prices! You can get a luxury, quality treatment for at least a third of the price right outside the entrance, and if you go down to the beach area, the same treatments (though perhaps not as professional) may be a fifth or even a tenth of the price or less. Of course you expect to pay more inside a resort, but the prices at the spa are disproportionately huge and you'd have to be crazy to use it when you could go to, say, 'Let's Sea, Let's Relax'.
Restaurant Tip : Avoid the many restaurants and get some food from one of the many carts that set up each night right opposite the entrance, outside McDonalds, etc. The food is so much cheaper, and way more delicious. Had some of the best Phud Thai's and curries for only 35 Baht each! All cooked right in front of you so you can make sure it all looks ok.

Jungle styling
Wonderful room (deluxe) with lots of space and balcony overlooking lake.
Friendly staff
Great Thai massage
Nothing really.
Restaurant very quiet in evening so lacked atmosphere - no wine list and they went to supermarket to get beer.
The town is nothing special but this is a great location - away from the noise. We loved the jungle theme and there are only 26 rooms so it never feels crowded. Fully recommended.

Great place to stay, as it's in the heart of Ao Nang. The room was very clean & big enough for our family. The pool was clean & great place to relax after a days activitys. Breakfast was good & staff was very helpful.
Restaurant Tip : The boat noddle just out of town on the right is good & very cheap. Plus the restaurant at Somkiet Buri is good if you don't like it hot just let them know.

Can not rave about this place enough, absolutely beautiful grounds, beautiful rooms, friendly and helpful staff, great location!
If you are on the ground level you can hear people walking above you, it can be quite loud depending on who you get. The only other con was the shower in the room, not a big issue but low shower head and low pressure.
You seriously feel like your in the middle of the rain forest, don't forget your bug spray....but its worth it. Walk for 2 minutes and your on the main drag of Ao Nang right in the middle of the shops and night stalls. Ao Nang is the most beautiful place in the word. Go there and stay at Somkiet Buri....you won't regret it.
Shopping Tip : Go and get some suits made at Elegance Collection, see Owen on the street when you turn towards the beach out of SB driveway. Eat dinner at Aree Babars to your right and take a Phi Phi Island tour. Don't book tours before you go, are cheap as when you get there.

Very nice surroundings, very jungle like
Air conditioning didn't work
Our stay at the Somkiet Buri was very nice and relaxing. Good location from the main beach to get the longtail boats to other islands. Breakfast was very good. The main con was our air-conditioning didn't work for most of the stay (3 nights) We reported the problem, reception was very quick to send someone to fix it. It worked for a little while then leaked and stopped working..Fortunately it wasn't too hot, but was very inconvenient. Overall, a very nice resort, room very clean, pool was really great as well.
Restaurant Tip : Can't beat the street vendor food on the main street. Great food and cheap as!

Nice secluded feeling while close to everything.
Staff very friendly.
Rooms clean and spacious.
Swimming pool is nice but there are only 9 chairs for the whole resort. Since there are around 40 rooms, at least 20 or 30 loungers should be provided.

Great Jungle setting with great pool. Really nice, big clean room with free fruit and water. Very well decorated, best place we stayed all holiday!
tv reception wasn't great but who stays in and watches tv all day?
This was a great resort and a really nice place to end our holiday. It is slightly off the main road so quiet, but close to all the nice restaurants and beach. The staff were great, and helped us with trip/taxi bookings etc. Room was amazing, really big and more like a honeymoon suite than a superior double. Lovely pool too, and the breakfast was decent also. I'd reccommend this place to anyone
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : railay beach, and chang bar is pretty cool too.

lVery nice hotel - like living in the jungle - it s a green oasis. The room Poolside room, was big, clean and so cosy.Big balconies with views on the pool and garden. It is close (5min walking) to the AoNang boat service and nicely hidden from the main street. A perfect base for island/beach safaries. There are many places to eat good thai food near the hotel.

Hotel rooms off the main street in a quiet relaxing natural environment
-restraunt location is a great setting in the covered hut
some mosquistos in the restraunt
breakfast options limited
Highly recommended location in the Ao Nang Area
- Hotel staff were extremely accomodating in any fashion
- Hotel restrant food was exceptional, never had to visit other restraunts as this location gets you away from the hustle and bustle of the restrants located on the main streets.
- Would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to this area, hotel is not on ocean frontage but is only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach.
Hotel Feature Tip : Relaxing environment with how the hotel construction is amounst the natural environment

Very quiet
Rooms are very clean and well equiped
Balcony closed to each others
This place is very beautiful, full of trees and flowers that make it very peaceful.
This is very closed to the beach, many restaurants nearby and agencies to organize day trip.
The most beautiful place I stayed.

the cooling 'tropical rainforest' environment.. in contrast with the heat of the beach.. situated walking distance to aonang beach, very near to 7-Eleven, McDonalds and Starbucks.. though i prefer to eat at the hawkers in front of those shops..
the hotel compound is very dark at night.. the lobby is very small and not comfortable.. no coffee-making facility
Apart from the above.. my first impression of the hotel when i step on the reception area is that it's a worn out old hotel.. but the rooms are actually very nicely done and very clean.. the pool and spa area is a bit gloomy for my liking... breakfast is okay, and offers halal food..
Restaurant Tip : eat at the hawkers in front of the hotel entrance.. they are really2 good and cheap..
