Not sure they cleaned the pool daily...
We had a poolside bungalow and found it to be exactly what we wanted. Max 10 minutes to walk to the beach, besides, they drive you to Ao Nang for free. We walked back to the resort every night, it took about half an hour. No problems with the location for us But then, we're walkers. Breakfast was not all that bad, and the coffee was served hot (better than nothing). Stayed for two nights before taking a longtail to wonderful Railay (stay on the East, it's much cheaper and only a short walk to paradise at Hat Phranang anyway).

Friendly staff and location is away from the busy crowds
Very friendly staff greets you upon arrival at their open air lobby. Pool view rooms are probably best bets as it gives you easy access and the canals are not particularly nice to look at as they are kinda muddy. Room itself is very clean and bed is comfortable. You get 2 bottles of water each day. Breakfast is sufficient and the resort gives you a free ride to Aonang whenever you want as many times as you want. If you don't want to pay a tuktuk 40baht back , it's really a relatively nice and easy stroll back passing along the beautiful Noppharat beach.
Restaurant Tip : Lots of food stalls in Aonang centre at night that are really good and very inexpensive that you can bring back to the hotel to eat. Food at the hotel is decent but more expensive.

Very friendly staff
Very nice location (quiet, beautiful surroundings)
Comfortable room
Crisps for sale
Very basic breakfast (often cold!)
Very nice and small resort. Very friendly staff at the reception. Hotel has on-site bike rental and a tuk-tuk to drive you to the beach.
The pools are nice and refreshing and the location in beatiful and peaceful.
Breakfast is very basic and the "hot" items (fried egg, ham/bacon, etc.) is always cold :-(
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Rent a bike

Very natural, quiet and pleasant location. Very spacious room and nice swimming pool in the middle.
Perhaps a bit too natural in the rooms as the bathroom is somewhat open and allows for various creepie crawlies to come in.
Overall a very good hotel at a very reasonable price. If you want a natural and scenic setting then this is definitely the place to stay. Very friendly staff and good service. My only criticism being the bathrooms are slightly too open to nature but this is only a minor complaint and wouldn't put me off staying there again.

little far from town center
The sundra resort hotel is a very nice cozy place, with lots of vegetation around and yet not too many bugs. The elevated walkways are a nice feature and connect the villas nicely. The brakfast is minimal aqnd not kept warm, so it not so pleasant. The staff were welcoming and leasant, always ready to cater to our needs. If you look for a quiet place this is it in Aonong. There is a tuk tuk shuttle free of charge thaqt wil take you where you want to go in the center town. You do have to find your way back and a tukk tuk ride ride wil cost you about 50 baht.

Superb back-to-nature setting, excellent service, helpful staffs.
A little far away from the shops and beach. Resort provides free transport but return not provided. Tuk-tuk(taxi)costs 30BHT/person/way back to resort. Resort breakfast is not up to par.
Overall, still nice to stay in and peaceful.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Island hopping and snorkelling is awesome. Surrounding islands are just breath-taking.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. The resort was very pretty. Swimming pool was nice.
No alcohol served at the resort but this is not really a big issue
When we first arrived in the resort we thought it looked amazing with a really tropical feel. There were loads of really strange sounds from the crickets etc and something which sounded like a cow and we later found out was a frog. Also in the morning you are woken to the sound of a cockerel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Sunda doesn't serve alcohol which probably preventing us from eating dinner in the resort, however, you are able to buy alcohol from elsewhere and bring it back to the room. Some people were drinking by the pool and they didn't seem to mind. Breakfast was included in the price and it was pretty good as there was a fair variety of food. Although the resort is a little way out of the town, they provide a tuk tuk for free to take you into town.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We went on an island tour of the Phi Phi Islands. It was only about £30 each and it was brilliant. The beaches are beautiful and the snorkelling was amazing. Also at the end of Aonang beach there is a walkway to walk up through the trees and rock. There are loads of monkeys who come down from the trees and jump around on the walkway.

Staff are extremely friendly but not at all obsequious or overbearing.
The location is peaceful and grounds are beautiful.
Breakfast (free buffet) is ok, but otherwise although there is a restaurant service they don't really expect you to eat there and it is expensive and not very good.
This chalet-style hotel is in a rural location about 10 minutes walk from the nearest beach (Noppharrat Thara) which is quiet and mainly used by locals, and 20 mins from Ao Nang, the touristic beach - but a free and frequent tukruk service gets you there quicker. If you want a peacefl place, this is it - the grounds are very nicely planted, staff are truly friendly and rooms light and comfortable.
Restaurant Tip : Go down to the main road, turn right and walk about 100m past the police post. There is a row of food stalls offering fish, chicken, squid, shrimp etc with glutinous rice. Point to what you want, pick up a folded grass mat and cross to the tree-shaded dune - they will bring the food over to you and you have a wonderful beachside picnic for about $2 per person!

Nice firendly resort
nice pool
breakfast wasnt a highlight
There are many pros, like the bungalows (big, very clean etc), like the pool (lightend and jacuzzi working till very late), like the staff, esp. the front desk and the tuk-tuk-drivers - they bring you every day to the beach (as often as you want).
There are just 2 cons - the breakfast is OK but no highlight, and the resort is a bit far from the beach (however the free tuk-tuk service is excellent).
All together we could recommend, we would come again...

The Sunda resort has its own dedicated tuk tuk to take you to the beach or into town.
Bungalows are good with king size beds and balconies.
Nice pool area.
Close(ish) to Noppharat Thara Beach.
Free internet access
Not walking distance to the shops and restaurants.
Food in the restaurant was average and no alcohol available to buy on site.
The Sunda Resort is a compact resort with a collection of bungalows surrounded by landscaped borders. The lovely surroundings encourage wildlife including lizards, cockerels, chickens, butterflies and cats. The staff are particularly helpful and the dedicated tuk tuk is a thoughtful touch as the beach is not really within walking distance.

Nice rooms and shared areas. Friendly staff.
The semi-outdoor bathroom was not done as nicely as it might hae been.
The Sunda is a quiet and peaceful resort, although only a short tuk-tuk ride from the centre of Ao Nang which makes it also convenient. Rooms are basic but comfortable. The pool is a little small and can be overcrowded at times. All in all a very pleasanyt place. We'd recommend avoding 'canal-side' rooms, as the canal isn't particularly beutiful...
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take a speedboat to Phi-Phi.

Environment, service, location, food
Very nice hotel. Environment and service are great. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. It has a very good location because it's a quite place and you can get to the center of Ao Nang in 2 minutes on motorbike. You will feel here like at home.
