Even though I don't have any serious complaints about the hotel, I would not recommend it to my friends. And the people who run it have do not know about hospitality management.

We returned to our room on the first night of our stay to find our bedroom door wide open, despite having locked it carefully before going out. We reported this to reception staff who thought it was hilarious. We declined to leave our key with reception again and I would advise you to do the same if you are booked to stay here. A communal balcony runs along the length of the hotel providing easy access to everyone's room and not much privacy. There is no restaurant at this hotel, breakfast is cooked under a canopy at the back of the hotel. Staff munched as they cooked, eating their breakfast at the same time. Long hair dangled in the food, nothing was refridgerated and flies got to it all before you could. The food was served on filthy, scuffed plastic tables but a table cloth appeared on our second day. Location was good, near the beach and surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops. Entrance to the hotel is through an internet cafe, so hard to spot at first.

When I booked this hotel for me and my family, a totally of 12 persons, there were completely different pictures shown on all the different websites then the reality! It was a little bit of a disappointment when we arrived and saw the rooms but we accepted and had a lovely time at Ao Nang Palace! Close to the beach, short walking distance to everything needed and nice breakfast. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful! We celebrated my mother's 50th birthday during our stay and the staff surprised my mother with a lovely birthday cake and a gift! The hotel is a bit overpriced, as everything else nowadays where many tourists stay, but really okay. Recommended!
