relaxing - but the hotel area is very large and built into a steep mountain slope-- the hotels consists of single houses and multistoried houses, all built on high supporting pillars inserted into the slopes -- this is what makes guests feel unfortable... the maintainance of the hotel is poor, there are sights of landslides and garbage thrown behind the bushes... there are also few guests..Guests get scared of landslides --as the area is not properly supervised and the garden shows many signs of neglect. Also the breakfast is poor and and food so so. a pity... as the architect built a great hotel --

We enjoyed our stay at the resort. We wanted to take a break from busy work life in Bangkok. Mission accomplished! Our room was very spacious, modern and very comfortable. Great resort with perfect location. We felt that there were 2 things that needed improvement; 1) menu and 2) customer service/relations.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
A must see - Mae Salong and tea plantations!! Chiengrai Night Bizarre.

Hotel is a bit far from town. U need to have your own car to get there.
My vacation in Katiliya Mountain Resort was great, reception is nice, all staffs r friendly and very helpful.
Thi place is like a paradise in a jungle. Very beautiful scenery, u r surrounded by the beautiful mountains.
Room is nice, clean except the balcony is a bit of dust.
Breakfast is ok, in fact i expect some thing more but it's ok.

the view from the room was great and very efficient with the check in although the booking was made in the last minute. food there was also surprisingly good for a western restaurant in such a secluded area in thailand.

the hotel is located in an amazing location overlooking mountains in the far north of chiang mai. the resort itself is very beautiful and the rooms (all suites) are amazing. it represents very good value for money. the restaurant and facilities are all top-notch.
