We arrived at the resort during the height of the dry season. It was also a time where the people burn the land to clear out the underbrush. The area was barren and looked like Europe in the dead of winter. Once we entered the resort everything changed. We entered an oasis if lush trees, gardens, rice fields that were green (no rice at this time of year) and a friendly staff that came out to greet us as we got out of the car. They helped us settle in and made us feel right at home. We went to the outside bar and relaxed as we looked over the terraced rice fields and a jungle that made us forget all about the barren trees outside of the resort.
Our room was in a bungalow that was situated by itself with great views of the fields and woods. The room was comfortable and spacious with a spacious bathroom. The rooms did not have television nor a refrigerator. If you wanted Wi-Fi, there was a comfortable sitting area in the loby where one could connect to the outside world.
We definitely loved the place and will go back. However, we strongly recommend that one should avoid the resort and the northern part of Thailand due to the heavy smoke pollution from the slash and burn ways of clearing the land.
If you are looking for a beautiful quiet place to unwind and connect with nature, this is the place. Enjoy.

Beautiful location, very good service
Fern Resort's bungalowes are spread along the little stream, well separated, allowing the privacy for the quests. The grounds are very well maintained. Food in the restaurant was excellent. We've tried different dishes from the menu and we liked them all.

we found the fern resort a very relaxing place. the lush green shrubs and trees and the little stream running along the resort added to the owerall atmosphere. the staff were very helpful and polite. the shuttle to town was very convenient.
our suite bungalow was spacious and clean, from balcony we could watch the sunset ower rice fields.
we ate at the resort's restaurant every evening. the food was excellent and served with a smile. the wi-fi worked well around reception and in the restaurant.
we went for a short walk with one of those friendly dogs, he certainly knew the way!
the long (4 hours)walk was worth doing, although we would describe is a trek, and no easy - rather moderatly difficult (we are fit and used to trekking).
we would like to come back to fern resort in the future and certainly will recommend it to our friends.
Travel tip:
If you go for a long walk/trek from the Resort it is better to go with a local quide (we had one for 150 bahts). The footpath is crossing the stream a few times and it is not easy to find where to continue.

this resort is truly a treat! the setting is quiet and beautiful. a sunset beverage in the rice paddy is a wonderful way to end your day. we took a hike to the falls with their guide dogs..beautiful.
the rooms are clean and spacious although we didn't spent much time in it. the food is delicious. the resort is staffed with local workers who are so very friendly and helpful.
the road to get here is very twisty, we flew out!

The address of this place looks like it is in the town centre but it is about 10 km outside up a windy lane and deep in the forest. All the chalets are well separated and situated amongst a natural setting. it was very quiet at night and lovely and cool. Breakfast was better than average and staff service and attitude first class.
