On the outskirts of quaint Mae Hong Son near Mae Surin National Park, the Imperial Tara hotel provides comfortable rooms overlooking the mountains or gardens. The town is three kilometers away as are four beautiful wats(temples). The Mai Surin National Park is just two kilometers from the hotel. The 103 guestrooms of the Imperial Tara have balconies and provide all the amenities including television, mini bar, safe, turndown service and views of the teak forest surrounding the hotel or the lovely gardens. A small fitness center and a pool with lounging sun patio. A good dining option is the hotels Golden Teak Restaurant serving Chinese, Thai and international cuisine in a delightful setting outdoors or on the patio. It is a perfect way to end the day spent in a relaxing part of Thailand.

Where are all the Tourists?
Location - Maehongson is a fascinating place to visit. The Hotel is on the main road and easy to find and to get to., Rooms - rooms are very comfortable and spacious, Staff - Staff is very friendly a

This was the fifth time that I have stayed at this hotel in seven years. That is the good news as well as the bad news. In previous years I was very exuberant in my reviews. This review is slightly more tempered due to the impact on the food service caused by a great drop in tourism to the area. The hotel used to have a breakfast buffet that was terrific in variety, quality, and quantity. Due to the lack of guests, 16 the first night that we stayed, the hotel now offers an ala carte breakfast - standard and typical fare. The dinner menu is also changed and offers much less international choices and sophistication than on previous visits. Will I stay there again? Yes, without a doubt but I hope that more people stay so that the hotel can return to their previous standard and performance.
