The Imperial Tara Mae Hong Son Hotel Mae Hong Son Info
On the outskirts of quaint Mae Hong Son near Mae Surin National Park, the Imperial Tara hotel provides comfortable rooms overlooking the mountains or gardens. The town is three kilometers away as are four beautiful wats(temples). The Mai Surin National Park is just two kilometers from the hotel. The 103 guestrooms of the Imperial Tara have balconies and provide all the amenities including television, mini bar, safe, turndown service and views of the teak forest surrounding the hotel or the lovely gardens. A small fitness center and a pool with lounging sun patio. A good dining option is the hotels Golden Teak Restaurant serving Chinese, Thai and international cuisine in a delightful setting outdoors or on the patio. It is a perfect way to end the day spent in a relaxing part of Thailand.

Location, friendly and knowledgable staff, great breakfast. The hotel charges for internet use: the swimming pool is quite basic and the jacuzzi does not operate. We arrived by car and checked in at 10 a.m.: the room was available. The room was very nice, spacious and clean. After spending a day touring we returned to go to the pool but the jacuzzi was not functioning. Car parking was adequate even on a busy day. Breakfast was very good and the breakfast area is in an excellent outdoor but covered location. A very nice and welcoming hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip : 1. We used an aircard from TOT to access the internet by mobile: much cheaper at 500 Baht/month unlimited use including connection than hotel rate. 2. Do not book anything offsite through the hotel: you will save a lot by going direct to the restaurant, thai massage, etc. offsite.

The design and decoration is nice with exotic Thai traditional style. Back-up power seems insufficient during electicity down across the city Impressive design of traditional Thai style hotel with wood decoration. Wide garden with great natural view with walking path. Spacious room with clean beds and utilities. Food also delicious and diversified with nice services of staff. Not far from the city, less than 10 mins by car.

- easy to get from the city
- beautiful surrounding of the hotel (big old trees and exotic flowers)

- requires a bit of refreshing/painting/changing decorations
- old swimmingpool with tiles getting off in some of its parts It is one of the biggest hotels in Mae Hong Son, remembering old times very well and trying to catch up with the current once. It is old and needs some renovation but the rooms are large and clean. Breakfast was served in a form of buffet but the way of serving and the variety of it could satisfy tourists ages ago. These days a bit more effort and care is required (some disorder on the buffet tables, old utensils, old cups and mugs, not very neaty table clothes).
