Adequate but lacking facilities in the low season

It was a pleasant stay quite and the staff were nice. My only gripes are that the bathroom was open air so our room often had insects in and my son got badly bitten and ended the trip looking like a pin cushion. The other gripe was that most of the facilities were closed as it was the low season. No spa facilities! The rooms do not have a separate bathtub and shower as advertised on Agoda, there simply is no bathtub.
The positives were how close the hotel is to town and with a shuttle bus it made it easy for us to get into town even with a baby.

POTENTIAL TO BE BETTER THAN IT IS !
REASONABLY QUITE, FAIRLY MODERN HOTEL WITH NICE PLANTING.

Looks really good from the photos, however not so good in reality. Has the potential to be a really good hotel but falls down on attention to detail. Sound insulation in nearly all these hotel is bad, unlucky if one has noisy neighbours which we did. Badly fitting doors to room, gaps letting in mossies . We had an upstairs room with an open air shower which could also let in mossies, easily solved with fitting of mesh, however to be fair we didn't have any ? Old TV, not flat screen. Otherwise nice room and large modern bathroom with rain shower. Balcony with large couch, covered in leaves and uninviting due to lack of cushions, therefore not used !
Breakfast OK. Swimming pool OK, a bit dismal ,green tiles, strange compartmented lounge areas beside pool ? Spa not in operation.
The good bits. Nice gardens and planting. Comfortable entrance sitting area. Free bikes, but actually old, crapy. Shuttle service on demand to and from town. Friendly staff.
A real mixed bag and difficult to recommend or not ? On reflection would only stay if I couldn't find anything better ! It was a late booking.
