i cannot say enough good things about a-1: salt water pool, amazing buffet for breakfast and dinner! stay here, trust me.
Nightlife Tip:
A-1 is on beach road. Simply take a baht bus down the street and you're in the action. Walk across the street and youre on the beach!

Nice hotel with a good location for first timers.
The staff was very helpful and could assist with most problems

The stay here was made all that more comfortable with the rest and relaxation that was enjoyed after a days meetings. The restaurant was pretty average and the food became very redundant after a few days. There are other restaurants close by and plenty of things to do around the hotel.

Bad room service, nobody understands English when ordering. Street outside hotel filled with bars so its noisy till late. Television channels not clear. Wifi 1 day is 500baht. bathroom very small. cockroach in the room.

Excellent position - Poor level of service

The genral attitude of the staff is that you are lucky to stay there. However the position is excellent and combined with a great evening buffet it still makes this place an option, although the service rerally leaves a bad taste.
Shopping Tip:
Central world. It has it all.

Room is big enough, but no toothbrush provided.
Some difficulties when using the shower, did call the staff but no one reply and help.
Balcony is ok but not all the room can see the see view.
Not all the staff can understand English.
So far is good and is a budgeted hotel.
