The beautiful swimming pool and garden and the location are the hotel's best features. It is across the street from the beach and centrally located. And the prices are reasonable. Good value for the money.
The rooms are old and run down. Not luxurious, but the basic necessities are there. They are very insistent and inflexible on the 12 noon check out. Difficult to extend even for a short time. Restaurant is pretty simple and basic.
I love this hotel for the beautiful tropical garden and big swimming pool and proximity to the beach and everything else that one needs. It is quiet and peaceful and inexpensive. I'm sure the rooms will be better after renovation. It is not the friendliest hotel I have stayed in. Maybe the staff need more training in this. There are also several unwelcoming signs like "No food from outside the hotel." The fact that the restaurant is not so good makes this rather unreasonable, especially since they threaten a fine.
Travel tip : Diving tours and tours to other attractions are easily arranged from the hotel or the nearby kiosks. Also Tops Supermarket is nearby and has everything anyone needs to survive as well as lots of food items difficult to find elsewhere.

The Hotel was just next to the main beach (the main activity area).I like the location of the hotel as its was not on the noisy part of the beach rd though the fun (day or night)was not that away. Also lot of good eating joints are nearby.
When I checked-in the renovation work was going on.I have read about it 3-4 month before but didnt expect that work was going on and on till date. They need to get new AC for the rooms as the present acs really sucks.
With the amount that I had paid,I really got a good deal. The hotel was just opposite to the main beach where all the fun happens during the day time and for evenings Walking Street was just 15 mins away on foot. But it took me 2 hours to reach the same as there was two huge mall on the way .Also all major fast food joints(Subway,Burger King etc) are just nearby to the hotel(5-8 mins away).Above all thanks to Agoda.com as I got a very good deal in this hotel because of them.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Just opposite to the main beach where one can go for the Parasailing,Jetski,Banana Boats and go to coral island from here. Also nearer to shopping malls.

Price, swimming pool and location of the hotel. The restaurant is clean and prices of drinks and food in the hotel are excellent value. Budget minded families need not go out of the hotel to keep costs low and have an excellent holiday. Car park facilities are also available.
Basic accommodation and limited TV channels with no movie or cartoon channels for the family and kids.
The hotel is ideally placed just off the beach road and centrally located for a quiet and relaxing holiday. but minutes from the busy night life bars and restaurants of Pattaya. The hotel has basic accommodation, but it is clean and all rooms have ensuite bathroom facilities. There is a mini bar and free bottles of water every day. The price of the mini bar and room service foods are the same as the hotel restaurant and is very reasonable matching the local bars around the area and much cheaper than in the busy bars and restaurants close by.The restaurant is very clean and the all you can eat buffet breakfast is highly recommended to start the day. The swimming pool is excellent in size and cleanliness and ideal for all including children's pool for young families. The cost of food and drinks in the restaurant and around the pool are very good and competitive with the local bars around the the area and much less than you pay in more expensive hotels. The price of a room for the night is very competitive and the lowest we have ever paid in Pattaya and we thoroughly recommend this hotel to budget seekers. The hotel has good parking facilities and security.
Nightlife Tip : There are many bars and restaurants next to the hotel that offer a very good selection of drinks, foods and entertainment. The prices of drinks and food is much cheaper than in the busy Walking Street area and so close to the hotel, who needs to get a Tuk Tuk to drink and enjoy good foods.

i thought the hotel rooms were very clean. Staff very friendly and polite.
The hotel swimming pool was a litter deep in the shallow end for adults that were not competent swimmers.
I was quite impressed when i arrived at the centura hotel, the swimming pool and grounds were beautifully kept. There was a kingsize bed in my double room and the linen was changed everyday and the rooms kept very clean. The breakfast was excellent far better then more expensive hotels I had stayed in. The hotel is being refubished at the moment and the rooms that had been completed looked excellent. I was so happy there I re-booked twice whilst in Thailand. Excellent location just across the road from the beach.
Shopping Tip : I found that the shopkeepers enjoyed bartering prices and you could buy for half the displayed price

The pool is excellent and the grounds really do give a feeling of being in the Tropics. The location is excellent as it is close to the action areas of Soi 7 and Soi 8.
The rooms are a bit basic but for the price, were fairly good value. I did not apreciate the lack of hot water for which there is really no excuse.
The hotel is in the process of being renovated and should be a lot better when this is complete. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, something that is becoming more and more scarce in Pattaya. All in all, I enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to return.
Restaurant Tip : The Sailors Bar is located on Soi 8 near Beach Road - the food is good, the prices are very good - cocktails are only 60 Baht.

location, right in the heart of pattaya
rooms are run down a bit.
I would consider staying here again as it is cheap good service fee water however to place needs a REVAMP. close to everything you need.
Shopping Tip : there are markets close for cheap shopping.

Having stayed at this property since it first opened some 40 years ago, I deliberately arranged for a quick visit in the hope that it was'nt going to sink further into decline. New managership has resulted in a few improvements notably around the pool area. Renovations to the rooms seem to be in the future. A big plus was the absence of certain groups staying at the hotel who dominated the limited facilities to the detriment of individuals such as myself. Glad to see many of the old and friendly staff still there.
Renovations to the rooms still need to be completed.
The very central location and attractive garden and pool area make it a pleasant place to stay, but the rooms can have problems - ask to see first ! At present rates it is still avery good deal and being only 3 stories high, convenient for the eldery - but NO elevator !
Hotel Feature Tip : On the Beach road, and amost next door to a Supermarket.

-original building
-lot of space in the room.
-low rise building
-lovely garden, lot of big trees.
-The hotel managment put the sign on said
"FOOD AND BEVERAGE OUTSIDE THE HOTEL ARE NOT ALLOWED" that made me feel uncomfortable.
-Original building seem like the management don't know how to renovate the building and the room properly.
over all is very old.
if you don't mind the (reallly)old building, old room, old bed and furniture, go for it.
I think they should do the better renovation that what the have done now.
the garden with big tree very relax and swimming pool with Chlorine free is great.
location is one of the great spot in pattaya.

Neat and clean rooms, friendly staff and a great swimming pool. Peaceful and quiet surroundings, close to central Pattaya.
I stayed at the hotel a total of 3 weeks Centera Beach Hotel is a pleasant family hotel and a hotel for single adults. Always nice and clean both the room and elsewhere on site. An exceptionally nice staff contributed to the well-being. Most of the guests were from Western countries and from Thailand, which I liked. A lovely pool with a mix of children and adults. Peaceful surroundings, close to central Pattaya and the beach. Here, I really liked.
This is not a modern hotel, with the highest standard rooms. But the rooms are both pleasant and clean. I prefer it over modern hotels that stands out as impersonal and sterile.
Hotel Feature Tip : Proximity to central Pattaya, restaurants and beach shops

great swimming pool .. friendly staff .. not expensive ..
bed was too hard .. not allowed to bring in outside food or drinks .. ants in the bathroom
I stayed 10 days at the hotel in Sept. 2009 because I got a discounted internet price on a standard room without breakfast It was a good decision except for the fact that I found the bed to be too hard. Other than that, you are not allowed to bring in outside food or drinks to the hotel. The staff was friendly and the pool was great however. Great location also.

The Pool, Bar and location within walking distance to most parts of Pattaya. Free WIFI in lobby
Older style rooms, in need of renovation
The Pool, Bar and location are great, hotel within walking distance to most parts of Pattaya including walking street, hard rock café and many other parts of the Pattaya Nightlife. The rooms were a bit lacking being older and in need of renovation. However decent cheap accommodation with free WIFI in lobby, just make sure you have your power adaptor
Nightlife Tip : Can't beat walking street

Location was good. Surprisingly quiet.
Huge pool, but too warm. Rooms need renovating but everything worked.
You don't get too much quality, but it's worth more than what I paid for.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Flight Of The Gibbons is a must! Find a couple of days to go to Cambodia, Angkor Wat is truly amazing. Koh Kong town has amazing wilderness.

The location is excellent, superior rooms r good and comfortable, food is good and everything u wanna do and see is on a walking distance
Hotel services r poor, staff is not good and don't assist, they need to update their furniture inside rooms,no provision of electric kettel etc.and dont even think about taking the standard room.
Overall it was a good stay especially after we upgraded to a superior room otherwise it would have been a nightmare.
Hotel Feature Tip : Use the rear gate to hop on to the beach and the beach road, excellent swimming pool and only opt for the superior room, especially facing the pool.

The hotel is in a great location, walking distant to the beach. Not close to any major market for shopping. Red light district.
