A good budget hotel
Furniture, free coffee, location
6
A reasonable hotel, with the basic things you would look for. They seem to want a 1000 baht deposit for some reason, which I found unusual for this type of Hotel. Opposite the Blind Massage.

Very good hotel
In a very quiet soi, yet close to everything, helpful staff, very quick to assist their guests.

I had a very enjoyable stay for 9 days. The only negative was that they charged me for a beer from the mini bar, that i did not have, when trying to explain that there was only one beer of the brand they were charging me for in the mini bar,the receptionist kept insisting there was 2, i even tried to explain to her that i do not drink beer, but this is Thailand and i paid anyway, whats 70 baht between friends, apart from this everything was great.

Quiet, great location.
Clean, large rooms - helpful staff.

Located on a quiet street just a few hundred feet from the beach. Plenty of restaurants and other businesses in the area. The rooms were large, clean and well furnished. The staff was very helpful. The main street on the beach had plenty of transportation available for trips to other areas.
Nightlife Tip:
Plenty of nightlife within walking distance.

great location big rooms friendly staff
the rooms, service and extras available
9.7
On first arrival the staff were lovely and friendly but the small pool was in reception area which was outside so first thought was that we had made a mistake.
Then we were shown the room and all thoughts disappeared as the rooms are huge, clean and with a king size bed which was really comfortable. In room safe, TV, WiFi, Fridge, toiletries etc. Small shower room/toilet but of course this not a problem and if it was bigger then the room would be smaller.
There was no coffee/tea facilities but when we asked at reception the lovely staff said we could have a kettle and within the hour a kettle and cups/saucers appeared so we only had to pop down the road for tea/coffee and milk. Also along with other things we borrowed an Iron and Ironing board as well so really helpful.
Another first was even though we were not right on the beach it was only a hundred yards away but we were given beach towels as well so all in all a great place to stay.
The only downside is the small pool, only 2 people could swim and then it was full because it was not very wide but not too bad length.
Restaurant Tip:
The Boathouse Hotel and Restaurant at the end of the road has lovely food, wine etc well cooked and nice portions but a bit more expensive than normal and on a Monday or Tuesday an Elvis impersonator does a set for a couple of hours.
The Surf Inn by Soi 6 is excellent value for money (food and drink) and we never had a bad meal there, nice portions and lots of choice Thai, Western and including a sushi kitchen with lovely staff.

Good location, large rooms, friendly staff
Room size and staff get you extras like kettle, iron etc.
9.7
Really nice place, lovely staff and the rooms were huge with lovely large bed. Although there was no tea coffee facilities we asked about a kettle and were given one within the hour with cups so only had to get our own coffee and tea. We also got given an iron and ironing board when needed and beach towels were provided so really lovely stay.
The only downside was the pool was really small and if you wanted a swim there only enough room for 2 people but while we were there noone used it so not a problem.
Restaurant Tip:
The Surf kitchen by soi 6 was excellent quality, quantity and price. For a bit more cost but very good food the Boathouse at the end of Soi 8 where the hotel sited and they had an Elvis impersonator on Monday and Tuesday

Great value hotel, very clean and new.
location on jomtien beach, cartoon channels on lcd tv, nice small pool for children.

a very good value hotel. there are lots of other hotels in this area that are the same price or cheaper, but most are dirtier and not as nice. you might get lucky and find somewhere else which is as nice chang charlie. the rooms have lcd tv, shower, fridge and a large balcony which is good to dry out your swimming clothes on, after a day on the beach. this hotel is perfect for a family that wish to spend the day on jomtien beach, there are some nice restaurants and a family mart close by. we spent 6 days here without getting bored, if it rains you can use the pool, which is rarely used by anyone else.
Restaurant Tip:
Rin talay restaurant - from the hotel walk to the beach road and turn left, walk about 100m. This hotel has some very nice Thai and western food and a small play ground for children to play in.

Service was fine until things stopped working
Nice enough hotel, just off Beach Road
4.7
we stayed at chang charlie's for 6 days. the first 4 were fine, although the air conditioner was not able to keep up until i reversed the ceiling fan that was pushing the cool air into the 3 meter elevated ceiling instead of towards the floor where we just happened to be. on our last night we came back from the beach, hot, sweaty, sandy and ready to shower only to find that the water was not working. the night staff didn't have anyone there to fix it and after 30 minutes they allowed us to walk down the hall to shower in another room. about an hour later the water came back on and we thought all was well only to discover that it would quit when you needed it most. we had thought about staying another night due to a flight change, but after talking to the morning receptionist, we had to leave as she was very rude. she asked if we would like a free night and when i said yes, she laughed and said "no way!". okay fine, you give us a room with a barely adequate air conditioner and a room without water for one night and this person (mai, i believe) acts as though we were a burden to her. i must admit that she did offer us a larger room at 50 baht more per night, but both my thai gf (who works for a travel agency in chiang mai and knows the meaning of customer service) thought this absurdly unsatisfactory. it's unfortunate but because of this morning desk person's attitude, neither of us recommend this hotel.
