strategic location hotel
location is quite convenience

quite satisfied with this hotel. the only problem is it surrounded by all the pubs so you will find that it is quite noisy until all the shops are closed. By that time it is almost 3pm.
Nightlife Tip:
it's a wonderful place if you enjoy the night life.

a really high class hotel with large clean rooms

Lovely staff, always accommodating. Normally 4 people on the front desk to greet you. Rooms were spotless with balconies and two bottles of water provided free daily in your room

Nice hotel close to beach but in a loud area

The Sunbeam is in a relatively good location. You can easily walk to the beach within a few minutes. The location allows you to easily access either main road which makes it easy to catch a Songtaew or taxi going in the direction you need. Also the Sunbeam is very close to Central Festival Mall which has a lot of great restaurants, a bowling alley, and cinema complex.
Nightlife Tip:
For Clubbing check out Mixx Disco at the south end, at the end of Pattaya walking street right near the pier. Mixx plays alot of electronic stuff. I found Marine Disco on Walking Street to be a good spot too.
There's also an Insomnia on Walking street but I found it a little cramped. Same with Lucifer Disco, which was really cool looking inside but at the time just too cramped though its fairly big inside.

Nice Hotel
Modern facilities, good location.

i generally enjoyed my stay and thought the bathrooms were too small and dark.
Some of the staff were nice and friendly but some just ignored my presence. Didn't like that.
It was clean and the facilities were pretty good.
i would stay there again but only on a special deal.

the worst customer service

i am a business road warrior and have had approximately 500 nights in hotels over the last decade. the check-in process at the sunbeam was the single worst i have ever experienced.
there were five different people working at the front counter--plus a manager--but apparently none of them spoke to each other because one would start my check-in process, walk away before completing it, and then another would start the process over again. i believe i has "helped" by at least four of the five staff working at reception. at one point the manager came and took my passport so he could make a photocopy and then returned it five minutes later. next i was asked by one of the reception staff for my passport...so she could make a copy. i politely refused, insisting that the manager had already done so, causing her to have to track down the existing copy... at which point some other staff member came over to check me in, starting the process all over again.
from the time i arrived until i was given the key to my room it was a full 20 minutes. this is not because of a long line or because the room was unavailable or still being cleaned...but simply because it took them a full 20 minutes to figure out how to check me in.
i was also asked to pay a 2000 baht cash deposit to cover loss of the key and the contents of the mini bar. this is about $65 usd. i was astonished to discover that the mini bar in the room contained 3 sodas and two waters, a value of about $5 usd. what the other $60 was for i do not know.
the hotel is over priced. the quality of the room is simply average, not horrible or wonderful, but given the price i expected much more.
given my travel history with an average of 50+ hotel stays per year, it is really saying something to assert the worst reception staff i have ever encountered, but this is truly the case. i will never stay at this hotel again.
Hotel Feature Tip:
avoid this hotel. stay somewhere else. stay anywhere else.

nice hotel, good location, just next to eastiny Spa and massage , where you get a good traditional thai massage and walk 5 mins, you are in Central where there is an excellant foodcourt serving fresh cuisines at reasonable prices.
hotel tariff was high compared to the fact that breakfast was not included in the package

step out and you are in the middle of the action !

over all i enjoyed my stay not a bad hotel.location is great there is alot of good beer bars around.central shopping center ic just over the next soi which is very handy for those who want to shop.

Great location but way too noisy at night
Location, location, location - a short walk to the beach and massage places as well as all the entertainment in the world at your doorstep.

Although the hotel is old and the room features and equipment are all old, it was neat and well kept. Breakfast was okay with a decent variety to choose. The hotel also has a wellness centre that is reasonably priced and one can have body well being treatments in the comfort of your hotel without walking long distances. The negative for me, is that the surrounding clubs don't stop their music till 4am in some cases... and they loud and thumping type music. Sleep deprivation can be a feature of your stay if you are there for a week or more.
