True Honest Review for first time travellers

The hotel is on the other end of Jomtien beach and is far away from the city. This is good and bad. Bad as its a minimum 20 minutes drive to the city. So your taxi expenses are gonna sky rocket. The hotel is BIG and has an awesome view of the beach but it does not read or execute any special requests you place on agoda. I reached the hotel early as my flight was early. I knew this and when I made the booking 1 month before my stay I had requested for early check in and big single bed. The receptionists who barely spoke english bluntly refused to give us a room. After letting them know that my wife is pregnant is when they even considered my case. 20 minutes later I got a room at the 30th floor with twin beds. They insnst on a deposit of 3000 bhat when other hotals simply take the credit card numbers. after unwillingly paying the deposit I asked the beds to be put together and there was no response from the receptionist.
This unpleasant feeling quickly went away when I walked into the room and saw the view that I had. Amazing is an understatement. Other than the receptionists all the other staff are very courtious. Good house keeping.
2 pools. One on the ground floor and one on the 5th. I personally liked the 5th floor. I heard that there is an indoor pool at the 26th floor.
The breakfast buffet is splendid and keeps you filled until late afternoon. The location (jomtien beach) is far more quiet than Pattaya beach or central pattaya. Good for family and couples. A few beach side bars are available and 7 eleven is just next to the hotel.
The beach has jet ske para sailing and banana boats. Good fun for kids.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Lots of small cute bars by the side of the hotel. All the attractions are far from the hotel exept for Ocean world. The entry to all attractions are costly Ocean world - 500 bhat, Tiffanys - 800 bhat. So please have sufficient cash handy. Taxi is costly too and you will need to bargain a lot, instead for a rent of 200 bhat per day (and a deposit of 2000 bhat) you can rent a bike. Cheap and best mode of commuting. Saves a lot of money and time.KT bike rentals is just 2 blocks away from the hotel.

The hotel was great. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is located right across a beach. There is a man taking people back and forth between the beach and the hotel. The hotel has 2 pools. One is on the ground level which is for kids and whoever doesn't know how to swim. The second one is located on the fifth floor which is more deep. The view up there is very beautiful.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The view is great but the beach is deep.

Rip Off Alert! The worst Customer Service, Ever!

Arrived at the hotel to meet very unattentive "reception" staff, on the phone, not acknowledging guests, and talking with each other. Then I discovered that my travel dates were mixed up, two days earlier than actual. The reception refused to honor it although the hotel was empty and insisted on discussing with Agoda. Following that line, Agoda was not any better as the person on the other end of the phone was rude in his answering the phone, "Hello", "Yeess?"! No may I help you or anything similar. The booking was for two rooms and two nights but no refund nor credit towards new reservation. I realize it was my fault for inputting the wrong dates and I am not saying I shouldn't be charged, but to say the hotel can keep 100% is totally outrageous! They were not busy any way and by virtue of not having the guests for those two nights they didn't incur the normal charges associated with people staying, ie cleaning, utilities, etc.

great location and just across the street from the beach. breakfast was a bit chaotic with all the tours that were there at the same time and made it extremely difficult to find a table to sit at. the room was good with a fantastic view of the beach. however, we did find the a/c unit in our room very noisy and didn't seem to keep the room as cool as we wanted.
Travel tip:
Choose your time to go down for breakfast wisely, as you may find it very busy for the buffet and hard to find a seat at a table.

I was pleased that the hotel allowed me to check in at 11 am and delighted to be upgraded to a deluxe room with sea view.
There was a musty smell on entering the room coming from the bathroom. There were scuff marks on the wall and beneath the shower window the wall was mildewed. The air con was clogged with dust - perhaps it has not been serviced for years. This apart, I was pleased with the room and balcony with a lovely sea view.
The staff were quick to attend to a problem with the safe and the room cleaners did a fair job.
The hotel seemed full, with a clientele of mainly Russians, Indians and Chinese - a sign of the times :)
