Good professional service, nice breakfast. Rather small pool at Grand Spa, no good internet access. We stayed at Royal Cliff Grand&Spa same days as ASEAN meeting was held there in April 2009. While the staff was very busu with this meeting they were always quick and professional with assistane. Even when rebel "red t-shirts" blocked hotel approaches on our dates of check-out the staff was able to find a car that took us out behind the demonstrators line to our taxi through the back-door roads.
The hotel however, is becoming shabby slowly and soon will need a renovation. The other con that for such rather large hotel the pool is rather small. The internet access for the own note-book there unfortunately is WI-FI only, rather expensive and absolutely unstable (while we always were able to enjoin complimentary both WIFI and wired good connection in all 5-star hotels we visited at Thailand).
But before there's no other newly built or renovated hotels at Pattaya this hotels won't need much efforts to get guests as still there's no good 5-star competitors at Pattaya having similar joint location, staff and comfort at one place.

Tennis and swimming possibilities are excellent Rossini restaurant is too expensive and not so good. We enjoyed our stay here.

Quiet location. Nice comfortable rooms.Friendly staff.Well equipped Gym with swimmingpool. As the hotel is at a quiet site. It is a bit remote from the city and places of action. Transportation leaving the hotel to the city is a bit expensive, as there are no public taxis coming into the comound. I know this hotel fro many ears. I was a freind of late Mr. Fassbind. My first time at this hotel was in 1980. I can recommend this hotel to anybody.Grande is a very nice and comortable place. great service and friendly staff. Nice rooms and a very comfortable balcony,where you can rest an enjoy the view of the gulf of siam. There is also a very good SPA with well trained staff.Iwould return anytime to this really 5 sstar hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip : Nice swimmingpools.Direct acces to the beach and swim in the sea.Well equipped gym with very helpful and freindly staff.

Hotel was nice as far as the amenities-rooms are nice. There is a bad smell in the bottom floors of Hotel/ Mildew. Hotel charges for Everything- will not allow taxis to come pick you up, you have to use their taxi service and they charge four times as much as a metered taxi would charge (i.e) 300 Baht to go 2 kilometers to walking street. They do not allow food delivery from outside the hotel, so you are forced to use the room service, which gives you half the amount of food for twice the cost. Hotel customer service guy reserved seats on an airplane to Phuket where we had reservations, told us we could just pay in the morning. We got a call in the morning saying the flight was booked all the way so we did not make it to our hotel- costing us three days that we could not get refunded. I would have to say this was the worst hotel I have stayed at, and I have stayed at a lot of hotels all over the world. On my next trip to Pataya I will probably find something closer to walking street so I am not spending so much more money than had planned on spending. If money is not an issue, and you do not plan on doing anything outside of the hotel then this might be a good choice, but other than that stay away!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you get a chance to do a snorkeling or scuba trip, make sure the boat you are on is full of people doing nothing but what you paid to do. We did a snorkeling day trip and the first two hours we spent just sitting on the boat waiting for the "fishing" part of the trip to be done. The Islands are definitely worth a trip to!

I jogged around the hotel but it was hard because the hotel is on the hill and there are many ups and downs.

A bit of a walk from the town The hotel was very clean. And very well siuated, over looking the beach and sea. Staff was friendly, the pools, beach,exercise room, squash court were very convient. The club breakfast was very good. We enjoyed the free wifi internet in the club lounge very much. We have visted many times and shall return in the future; and will consider this hotel as our first choice for our next visit to Pattaya
