Sarita Chalet and Spa Hotel, Pattaya

Although the swimming pool is small, the hotel is new. The rooms and the lobby is decorated in thai style. The staff is really trying to do everything to make your stay agreable. In the restaurant there is live music (piano and singing) mainly of a classical pop style. Very relaxing especially to the baby boomers generation. The hotel is really great for relaxation. The sea is just accross the street, but the it is not very clean, just like other beaches around Pattaya. Cheap and fresh food is available from street vendors. In overall, I liked the hotel and would go back again for calmness and devoted service.

I initially booked the hotel on the strength of a lone INTERNET review written by a person with a nickname "dizzy". I should have known better. I had tried to book with a local Thai based agency... but they had taken the hotel of the list... On arrival I was shown a small room with a with a window facing an outside wall 50 CM away! I asked for another room and was told I had booked a superior room and that was it ...they would gladly upgrade the room for more additional money than the original price, which was already high by local standards. After much discussion with surly staff, the manager came up with a slightly better room "only" facing the construction site. Other than that to hotel and the room was clean and quite and the breakfast was standard. I think I should add the location Jomtien in Pattaya is something you must like .....for me if I want this environment I may as well go to the Black Sea or other Eastern European resorts... for this is not Thailand....sadly nothing of the charm of the country is left ...if you want Thai go somewhere else in this beautiful country.

Sarita is one of the best resorts I have been to. It is a nice place at a convenient part of Jomtien beach, with a convenience store right beside. For the sea sports enthusiasts, you can also find plenty of activities, such as banana boating, and jet-skiing right outside. There are tents available for rental too, if you are keen on simply relaxing by the beach.
