Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa, Pattaya

My main complaint is with the food/service/price. We went for a short getaway with every intention of relaxing at the resort. Our first lunch by the pool was mediocre at best, with typical resport prices. We ate dinner at the siam elephant restaurant (as the beach buffet didn't look appealing and was nearly 900B). Prices were on par with other medium-expensive thai restauants, and the food was ok, but not great, and not generous. Service, while friendly, was also lacking. The buffet was extensive but of low quality, and THEY CHARGED B700 for it!!!! Traveling with a baby, we didn't have flexibility to leave for breakfast so we paid 2800B for breakfast for 4 (about the price of the room). Also, the buildings have a lot of stairs and walking. Not good for strollers/elderly but no problem for healthy adults. They have such a lovely property but need a mangagement/food/service overhaul to bring it up to its potential.

So your a business traveller, travelling extensively across Asia and elsewhere.. your life onsistse of tapping out emails on planes and uploading when you get to the hotel at your destination however hard as you try , you can never seem to keep up. Well do what I do... book yourself into The Siam Bayshore pool side deluxe rooms and spend 2-3 days there both unwindidng and catching up. Rooms are very comfortable, internet is blindingly fast and pool side food both western and Thai just the ticket. I use this hotel on a regular basis to simply unwind and catch up . I get more work done during a 3 day stay here than I would anywhere else plus with added advantage that the swimming pool is just metres away. Great location just at quiet end of Walking street with great staff and a very reasonable rate. If you really want a strees relief wander around to the go-cart track which is close to hotel (but out of earshot) and take out a cart for an hour or so... the carts are not speed governed like they are in US/ Australia and you'll come off the track grinning like a liitle boy. Pattaya is only 1 hour from BKK international airport and The Siam Bayshore Resort is far eneough from the clamour of Walking Street to be peaceful but close enough that if you do wantsome nightlife its an easy 10 minute walk. Just the ticket for the busy business traveller..so much better than staying in BKK for the weekend.

I would certainly give this 5 star reccommendation, felt good which helped me enjoy the holiday. Visited 23 October until 5 November and will be going back 28 December 09 until 13 Jan 10. Looking forward very much for another great time, Thanks to all the staff, very professional,
