comfy rooms but quite a walk to Patong Beach

Alfresco is quite a new hotel. The rooms are comfortable and pretty much has the standard amenities like free wi-fi and a small pool at the rooftop. Location-wise, it was quite a walking to Patong Beach itself. However, it was close to Jungceylon where a varied choices of restaurants abound.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Don't purchase your Island Hopping Tours online just yet. You have tons of packages from stores along Patong Beach. Don't be shy to haggle.

we only stayed in the hotel one night before we flew home but we would def go back here again. realy friendly helpful staff. clean and modern rooms. it takes about 10 mins to walk in to the centre of patong beach. its safe enough for a thai road.

we stayed 4 days in alfresco and we liked the hotel a lot. rooms are nice and clean, food is very good and pool reasonable for the hotel size. location is about 15 min. walking to the main street and patong beach, and 5 min walking to jungceylong shopingmall. we really suggest to rent a motorbike, then is everything close.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Walk late night in the main street and visit the newest nightclub in Jungceylon centre.

Just what you want and need from a hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms, good breakfast in thai-measure. We liked the fact that it was a bit "off" - not way out in the jungle but a few minutes walk from the noisy and hectic Patong city centre! No need for a cab or tuktuk, but still not right in the middle.
The hotel had a nice rooftop pool, perfect for sunbathing if your not a big fan of rubbing elbows at the beach.
Restaurant Tip:
Walk past the massive shopping complex and you'll find a nighmarket where the thai get their dinner, foodstalls that offers rich portions of real thaifood. We found that the tourist-restaurants in Patong was just overpriced and not as good as the streetstalls. So go out and adventure!

When we first arrived at alfresco hotel, we were pretty excited. The check in procedure was pretty quick.
The rooms were clean and huge. The toilet bowl got stucked on our second day but were quickly solved by the efficient crew.
They had a mini bar on the first floor but the pricing was way too expensive.
The breadfast selection was limited.
Area of hotel was pretty far away from the main nightlife,
althought it doesn't matter as tuk tuk was standard 200baht.
Check out was pretty quick as well.
Nightlife Tip:
If you're going only for night life. choose another hotel, this hotel is too far and we spent about $250USD on tuk tuk itself for 6 days.

we came here for relaxation so we did not want a place that is too close to the party venues, but we also wanted one that is within walking distance to the beach. alfresco hotel just fit the bill.
it was so relaxing, together with the cool pineapple juice they served.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
book your island hopping package thru one of the stalls at the roadsides, it will cost you 50% less than what is being charged at the hotels. the trip normally starts 7am and ends by 430pm, so factor that in your itinerary.
near alfresco hotel is a thai massage shop, get a stimulating thai massage for only 250 baht - value for money :)

New hotel a bit of a walk away from the beach

Stayed here for a couple of nights. There is no shuttle that runs at night so be prepared for a 15-20 minute walk into the action at night. This walk is along a unlit busy road so be careful, would recommend to take a taxi, which are parked outside the hotel. The rooms are a good size, and everything was new and clean. Had a problem with smelly drains in the bathroom which was never fixed.

This hotel is nearby Patong, so either you walk, which might take abt 20 mins or rent a bike/ cab/etc. Nice hotel, love the room and the bathroom! Complete with all the required creature comfort. The pool is the best. ITs on the roof top. Good breakfast selection, but pls do be there early coz the food runs out quite fast! Had a good 1 night stay at this hotel and i will stay again if i ever go back to phuket
