Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Rode hard and put up wet
near more than a dozen massage shops...
5.3
Picked the hotel as a last minute choice, previously stayed two years ago, so thought we'd give it a go, weren't all that interested in the pool access as before because we anticipated rain.
The hotel has seen much better days. From my previous visit it felt and appeared that it was well used and worn. Some of the staff acted and treated us this way as well.
It served its purpose, except for the deplorable handling of my one question upon check-in "may we have a late check-out?".
This was followed by "can you check back tomorrow", "I will call your room", "there is a 200 baht fee per hour, but you can ask the manager", upon asking or referencing the manger we were again given the 200 baht fee response. This then was followed by a phone call, wherein we asked for 30 additional mins prior to check out, but we were told that if we didn't come to check out on time she would not be able to go eat.
The hotel was ok, with so many new places at similar price points, no reason to stay at Alpina. The spa even with the 40% discount promotion was not enticing enough to sample with their prices.

Very nice hotel
very good pool - good breakfast - OK rooms
8.3
This is a very nice hotel with OK rooms - good beds - OK TV - nice balcony - very good bathroom - well located AC unit. The rooms are a little small but certainly no problem by any means. The bathroom is good sized and the shower very good. The bed is very good and the furniture very useful and comfortable. The pool is excellent - very large and varies in depth for all to use as they see fit. There is a nice spa on the premises and the restaurant is well located and serves good food. The hotel is located near the end of a street which runs into the main street in Kata Beach and so is well located for shopping. The hotel runs a free shuttle to the beach during the day. Internet service is free and available in the room - gets the job done. The off season rates are well worth the money - the high season is another story - as is much of Phuket in season. The staff is very good and very helpful. Both the manager and assistant manager are very good and a pleasure to deal with. Overall - a very good hotel for a vacation

I was only booked in for one night into a poolside room (which was supposed to be right beside the pool). Upon arrival I had been booked into an upgraded room but it was out of the way and unfortunate that it had not been communicated in advance.

Enjoyed my stay.....
Breakfast, great, rooms spacious, staff accommodating
8.3
overall, i enjoyed my stay here. when i first arrived, they upgraded me to a very nice and spacious suite. two bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi tub, plus shower, and the other with just a shower.....much, much, much more space than i could ever need. however, despite the space and the luxurious tub, i had to ask to be changed to another room. this suite is on the ground floor, and had a very musty smell, as if the room had not been used for a very long time. i tried to wait it out for the scent to subside, but it was still hard to breathe the following day. though the staff eventually changed it, they wanted to treat it first, (maybe to see if i would just go away) but eventually did after i asked 3 times. aside from that, my stay was very pleasant. the facility is otherwise well kept, and the staff is quite pleasant. breakfast was varied and plentiful. i think they did an ok job evacuating us for the tsunami threat, but should have been more efficient. instead of having someone knock on each door...this is a huge facility....they should have a pa system. my friends were evacuated at least 15 minutes before me. i have no regrets staying here, and felt it was good enough value for what i paid. two things of note, it is a bit far away from the beach, though they provide adequate transportation every hour on the hour, and it may be more than the 50 minutes from the airport they advertise.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
They sell many tours at the hotel, and in the area...don't miss Phi Phi Island. Additionally, do not miss the Thai massage offered at the hotel.

Disappointing service, 3 star at best
Great swimming pool if that is all you are looking for in a hotel
5.3
I found service from the staff was lacking and they were very unfriendly. One of the first hotels in Thailand I have stayed at where I did not receive the customary hospitality. I have to admit they had an excellent swimming pool but once again you had to get your own drinks because the waiting staff was non existent. Phone lines were down during our stay and this was a pain because our rooms were situated a long way from the lobby. The blankets and sheets also seemed damp in oour room but to be fair acquaintances that stayed next door had no problems with this.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Request rooms closer to the lobby or you could be in for a long walk.

Nice hotel, nice rooms but not overwhelmed....
7.7
I enjoyed my recent stay at the Alpina Phuket Nalina. The hotel was nice, staff were nice and the rooms were nice and spacious.
Overall, it was a nice hotel but I wasn't blown away. Perhaps because of the time of year, there didn't seem to be many people staying and it was a little lacking in atmosphere. The staff could have been more helpful in their knowledge of good local restaurants as well.
