bar closed at midnight,no flexibility here. Arrived after 17 hour flight, put bags in room went back down to the bar and was told it was closed at 23.50. Most unwelcome start to my holiday

hotel staff were helpful and arranged airport transfers for a price, but overall the hotel felt a bit tired. the aircon was broken in our room and they couldn't manage to fix it while we were there, and didn't offer to move us. the other aircon leaked and the room smelt quite musty. breakfast was pretty god, but the service in the restaurant was terrible
Restaurant Tip:
Marina Phuket resort on the way to Karon Beach has a great restaurant called On The Rocks, which has a nice view over the beach

There were lots of ant in the room, and polluted my child's milk powder. But hotel refused to provie free food (fruit and cake) for child.

Definitely one of the best hotels in Phuket ,I enjoyed every second of it. Just outside the hotel you get lots of restaurants ,massage shops and excellent vibe. I was the with my 3yr old boy and my sister and he had a wonderful time .they don't have kids club but the lovely big swimming pool makes up for it. They just need to change the gym opening time from 8 o'clock to 06:30 atleast.

Children playroom not open, staff not service minded, wifi not working
properly have to restart it all the time and very weak.
Got a room on other side of area = walking very very far on very very
slippery area every time you go out and go to breakfast with small children
tv not function good with rainy picture, aircon leaking on floor in several places
and made it slippery all the time and a lot of plates, glases, baskets,
chips, bottles, mugs and more took all the places for put your own things on.
I have been to 3 star hotels in Bangkok and feeling more comfortable
than here.
And be careful if you booking on big holidays then you are
forced to pay extra for gala dinners even if you not want to attend to it.

OK, but not new looking at all

We stayed at a number of hotels in Phuket to try a few hotels, 5 star, 4 star and 3 star. This was our 4 star option, and we were not very impressed. We had a pool access room, it was great for my 7 year old to go to the pool from the room, she loved it, and the pool was very nice. But the grounds are nothing flash, and there is a swampy pond in the first section, I would not want a room overlooking it, looks like a Bangkok canal.
The staff were very friendly, and the location is reasonably close to Kata beach, but we ended up being much more satisfied with the next hotel we went to, which was a 3 star hotel, than the Alpina.
It is supposed to be new, but it really looks very old and run down, not sure why it deteriorated so quickly.

The rooms have good facilities and you cant go past having direct pool access
