staff's english skills were pretty poor On arrival to our resort we were greated by friendly staff and escoreted to our lovely room. The room was large enough for the three of us, and clean. The location of the hotel, is up a hill but its not a long walk into town, and its nice to get away from the hussle and bussle. The hotel boasts its own private beach but its not much to boast about.
Restaurant Tip : eat in the restaurant in the hotel the location is as good as the food

great location little bit (5 min by foot) secluded from the city and quiet. The humidity made the sheets and bed damp, not so nice to sleep on. A very all round set up; with three restaurants all with excellent food and very reasonable prices, great view and beach access, different pools, a few boutiques, shows every night, fitness room, offering courses, and room service for everything if needed. Hospitality of staff were impeccable! Cleaning of room deteriorated during the stay but was still acceptable levels. Very expensive spa compared to others and hence not visited and can not really judge if it would be worth it.
Shopping Tip : In the biggest mall of Patong there is a shop called "The danish tailor" in the basement floor, go there if you want custom made cloths, little bit more expensive than other shops but worth it due to speed and quality. Very trustworthy.

Excellent swimming pools, fabulous staff and service, good facilities e.g. bar, spacious lobby area, shops on-site etc. Excellent breakfast. Bedrooms are dated and need refurbishment especially the bathrooms, La Gritta restaurant not value for money. All in all the Amari is a great place to stay in Patong as you are far enough away from the madness but close enough by foot to experience it if you like (short 10 minute walk). The hotel is very serene and has beautiful views overlooking the bay. The exterior of the hotel is beautiful and the swimming pool and bar areas are great. The breakfast was wonderful and the other resaurants were great for lunch. We ate by the pool quite often which was lovely. The cocktails are also good and I can recommend the banana milkshake!
One thing that does let this hotel down is the bedrooms as they are dated and are in some need of refurbishment. They do not meet the standards you would expect at a 5 star hotel. Also the La Gritta restaurant was not value for money. The food was good but not worth the price as I feel it was more bistro than fine dining. I would definitely stay at this hotel again though as the positives outweighed the negatives.

- closer to patong beach , nightlift - rooms are not worth $130/night,
- small room, small tv, small bathrooms
- not worth money for the room stayed for one night before checking in at JW Marriot Phuket. We were disappointed w the rooms. Earlier reviews said good things but the rooms didn't meet our expectations. Has great view, great Italian restaurant with deck on the beach, great view!

i would definitely come here again and i would highly recommend it to everyone.
the hotel is even more beautiful than in photos. Staff were amazing and so helpful. The only hotel in patong with direct access to the beach.

The roomservice food is fantastic, it has a private beach, the pool is beautiful and the location is nice and seperated from the rest of island. Expensive to get onto the main beach, 200 baht from Tuk Tuk to anywhere on the island - it would be much cheaper to hire a scooter or motorcycle. We found the Amari staff quite attentive and willing to please. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, it felt like we had our own personal assistant.
From booking tours, giving advice and tips - they were always very helpful and friendly.
The only gripe is the room service sandwiches cost approximately 400baht :(
Hotel Feature Tip : It is approximately 45 minutes from the Airport to the Hotel, so save yourself some stress by booking a transfer with the hotel.
ALSO, when eating at LA GRITA, ask for the farewell menu, its much cheaper!

Beautiful luxury feeling of this hotel from lobby to outdoor restaurants. newly remodeled. many rooms including ours had ocean views that were stunning. great service and friendly staff. The coffee cups were only wiped out and put back rather than taken away and new clean ones put back! they weren't clean! We loved the Amari Coral hotel. it was up on a hill overlooking the bay and away from the noise of the action on Patong Beach. A 10 minute walk from hotel to main area to shop and eat. great pools and there is a small ocean area for the hotel, but if you want to hang at the beach you must walk down the hill to the beach. we loved the pool so we were very happy.
Travel tip : stay longer! you feel so good at this hotel!!

The hotel is secluded from the havoc of Patong Beach, perfect location. Our room had the most beautiful view to the sea. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. Internet access is over priced (we paid 5 baht per min! while everywhere else it's 1 or 2 baht per min) and is located in the gift shop which closes at around 8 pm, which for us was very limiting. As a previous reviewer said - for the price of the rooms, the internet should be free and accessible.
Also, the endless stairs to and from the rooms to the restaurants and pools can get to be a drag.
Last thing - the hotel doesn't provide free shuttle service to Patong Beach which is a 5 minute drive and costs 200 baht each way. We stayed at this hotel for 6 days and went outside the hotel almost every day - do the math.
BUT - all that being said - we'll definitely be back at Amari :) It was our last week in the Islands and the hotel was just what we needed, it's luxurious and pampering. The food is excellent, the hotel has one of the richest buffets we've seen.
The 4-course dinner at the hotel's Italian restaurant on our last night was most romantic...
We stayed in Thailand for 3 weeks and our last week at Amari was a great ending to a heavenly honeymoon.
Hotel Feature Tip : The hotel has a great band playing during dinners and after that in the inviting hotel lobby. Send my regards to Juliet and MJ!!!

The pier was really beautiful especially during sunset and the last night at the Italian Rest was rather memorable. Had the best anti-pasta. Rooms looking out into the sea was really romantic.. Hotel shuttle service to Patong Beach centre would have made the hotel service complete, especially when the Baht 200 ( US$6) taxi charge is quite expensive for 5 min ride to town.

All the things required for a thoroughly relaxing stay were here. Hotel staff were friendly, accommodating, room great and the food/service excellent. Our view was ---------stunning! Only thing we didn't like was the amount of steps between levels, and the lift was out of order for part of our stay. We had been to Phuket/Patong before & stayed in a less luxurious hotel, it was ok, but all the facilities in the Amari were far superior. We will stay there again, as it suited us in all respects, despite the steps! Friendly staff, and excellent food, (the breakfast mmmmmmmmmmm! and the Italian restaurant, great.)

definitely would go back there again,
Hotel beach due to rocks in the water was not usable, the hotel is located in the very calm part of Patong beach, so you get all advantages of Kata beach plus nice restaurants of Patong are in 10 min walking distance, it is the perfect area for being in the heart of action and also enjoy the tranquility!
Nightlife Tip : Patong beach famous night life is in 10 min walking distance.

Location, service, privacy, view and decor. No WiFi access in the room, only the lobby area, and was not free. For the price of the rooms, guests should be provided free and accessible internet access. Too many stairs-both leading to and from the buildings and up to the room. Exceptional service from the moment we arrived. Cool towels and jasmine tea presented upon arrival to ease the check-in procedure. Luggage delivered to our room, so no hassle with the stairs. Beautifully appointed room, great view from the balcony (which had a sofa and chair!!) and close proximity to one of the two pools and the beach. Restaurant service was efficient and friendly, as were the bar staff. The buffet breakfast had a wide variety of food, and everything was hot and fresh. Would definitely stay here again.
