Solo travelers United Kingdom, June 23, 2012	ideal location friendly staff,speak good English 9 This was my third stay at the Amethyst and would recommend this hotel to solo travellers and couples. The hotel has single rooms but are very small and have no window,the double rooms are spacious and have a small balcony. The staff are very friendly,always willing to help and speak good English. Located close to main nightlife,beach,Thai boxing and shopping. Had a great stay and will be returning. Got a great deal on an Agoda sale!
Jan W. Solo travelers Sweden, March 19, 2012	Cheap and OK location, but bad smell Large room with table and chairs 4 Stayed 2 nights at this hotel in a "Deluxe King" room. Quiet location at the end of a small soi just off Phang Muang Sai Kor Rd, less than 10 minutes walking to either Soi Bangla or JungCeylon Shopping Mall, or about 15 minutes brisk walk to the beach. Pros: Big and quiet room, chair and tables, big TV and free Wi/Fi Internet.Good price.OK location. Cons: Simple and cheapish coconut-wood furniture. Cracks and mould on the wall and dirty windows. Hard matress and pillows. Small bathroom with shower spraying water on toilet-seat and making floor wet and slippery at all times. No fan-ventilation in the bathroom, making mirror foggy. Very bad and weak lighting in the room especially at the head end of bed making reading at night impossible. Balcony isn't really a balcony, it's just a thin ledge with standing room only. Quite a few mozzies in the room, but my biggest problem was that my room and the whole hotel had a very pungent smell of antimozzie spray or some other antiseptic that gave me a serious head-ache and also nose and throat problems,so I had to leave this hotel for a better one! Also the towels smelled like they had been sprayed with something greasy? Another annoying issue is that you have to cross the very busy Phang Muang... road everytime you want to go somewhere, especially dangerous at night with motorbikes driving by at high speed and sometimes without their lights on, making it a serious death-trap!Wouldn't stay here again. Nightlife Tip: Just a few minutes away from the busy nightlife scene on Soi Bangla, with beerbars, cabaréts and night clubs and discos for a great night out!
Mozapher F. Couples Canada, February 25, 2012	Good price for that location Good location 7 The location is near all the action, shopping and the beach. The room is clean thought the front desk and the main floor is missed up. The hotel is 5 floors and the only problem is that hotel has mo elevator and if you book on line be sure to have the lower floor , also the wifi is ok if you are in the lower floors but if you take the 4th of 5th floor then good lick you will be so frustrated with the wifi. Beside that the hotel is ok for the price.
