Hotel with only great location

Sad to say the moment i walked to the hotel for check-in i was rather upset and angry the way the frontline hotel staff greeted us. I was told to give our passport to them but after giving them few of the passport, they do not seem to be satisfied and keep asking is that all? When asked the reason for the passport, no specific reason was given but were told that they need to see it.
I was curious as i have never been requested to show passport during hotel check-in.
Upon finding out the reason for it I was really angry as why they needed to see the passport was due to the need to charge us for extra bed as the number of adults have exceeded the permissable 2 adults per room. I don't mind for the extra charges but my concern is why can't they just asked how many adults and kids are staying in the hotel altogether. Furthermore, it seems like the whole of the frontline staff plus those who are in the office suddenly just came out to check and with fingers pointing and counting how many of us which was embarrasing.
On the day of check-out ie 15/12/2012 I have requested for extension of check-out time by 1 hour ie 1pm or for extension of half day of 1 room of which I offered to pay for the extra charges but was turned down with reason given as the hotel is fully booked. But upon checking online, we found out that there are still rooms available.
I would hope that the hotel staff can be more straightforward and not turning around the bushes.
Lastly I would like to praise 1 of the counter staff named Sophee (I do not know the spelling of his name but sound like sophee) whom is a guy who can speak Bahasa Malaysia on morning shift on 13/12/2012 & 14/12/2012 and not on duty on 15/12/2012. He is very friendly and helpful.

got upgraded to a grand deluxe room(corner rm)-very spacious,even with an extra bed.plenty of space for kids to run around. B.fast is simple,dun expect 5 star buffet spread. Location is good-near big shopping mall and shuttle to Patong beach. Only 2 Cons:renovation work(hotel extension)still going on,thus dusty and had to close curtain most times,plus sight of workers.thus also reluctant to use their nice pool.WiFi only works in public places not in room.
Hotel Feature Tip:
A rather popular hotel that most locals know/is aware. sister hotel is attached, thus can also use their pool. Should try their pool attached room.

Upon arrival, was then informed of electricity cut till 5pm (local time), thus no lift access & no power in the room as well. It happened on the last day of check-out too with only notices pasted in the lift. Timing of the Shuttle Bus to Patong beach does not meet our schedule, in the end, did not manage to catch any lift during the 4 days stay. Average rating for Breakfast varieties. Construction going on at next building, so u may find it noisy & dusty. Only thing is Kids love the direct pool access from room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Very reasonable price package available at agency shop along the street just outside the hotel. 10mins walk to Junceylon Shopping Mall on a busy road. Will pass by a Boxing stadium along the way.

It's close to the shopping mall and there's night market nearby.
I don't think this is good as four stars.
But generally it's ok.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:

I travelled around the world but this hotel is the worst hotel I ever stayed... it is the small hotel and not worth the price... still under reconstruction and surrounding not comfortable... i stayed in the deluxe pool access and no privacy at all... far from the tourist area and you have to rent the motorcycle to go to the centre... be careful with the staffs, especially the receptionist... they are not nice as you think... we rent the motorcycle from hotel receptionist... they hurrying gave the agreement for us to sign without showing the condition of the vehicle... when we give the key at the last day of our stay... the told us that the motorcycle had a new scratched (and 2 old scratches) and asked us to pay 2000 baths... actually, we used the motorcycle to buy food and mostly parked in the underground in hotel... there was no accident happened... I felt cheated... I asked them (in Thai language) about the scratch, they did not know that I can speak Thai very well... I saw the new expression on their face... they asked me to pay half price... means 1000 baths... (usually the real price is not more then 500 baths.. when my husband tried to explain, one of the receptionist just told 'whatever!!'... what kind the receptionist is this... they should train more polite receptionist.. shamed on you. no more!! I promised will never take any step in this hotel again...

Lovely hotel and service with a smile
the room atmosphere is great. The room that i booked was a good design for family.

The duplex room that i booked provide a very good atmosphere and it was very suitable for family with kids.
Is clean and spacious room.
The food is very delicious with a reasonable price.
But unfortunately the location of the hotel is in the flood area.During my first 2 days in Phuket, it was heavy raining and cause of flooded and we can't reach the hotel or go out from the hotel as no transport can be drive in or out.
Nightlife Tip:
The amazing nightlife area just very short distance from this hotel. A walking distance.
