You may wish to rent a car or moped to get greater access to other beaches and attractions, as the unlicensed taxis are unreliable and very expensive.
- Travel tip : Some good restaurants close to Laguna at Bang Tao especially the French/Thai 'Black Cat' - great food at at even better price.

Add more interior to be more attractive and focus more on gardening and then, it could be stunning & charming to guests that stay. Now, it's too plain.

The hotel was lovely with little Thai wooden villas and a wonderful swimming pool. It's far from the beaches but it is in the middle of the island, so you can choose a new place every day by going aroung with a scooter.

It was a good hotel, but a couple of days here is enough because of the location.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There was a market nearby one of the days, which was very good.

Staff performance was really bad. It was my birthday during the stay and we asked them to prepare something special, but they had forgotten about this one day later.
- Travel tip : If you want a really nice hotel at Surin Beach, then book the Manathai hotel. Much more value for your money. Close to the beach with own beach club. You save money for taxi, for sun chairs, for high restaurant prices (as there are a lot of nice and cheap restaurant at Surin Beach) and you stay in a four-star hotel with five-star comfort!

We had the Christmas buffet, which was better than the normal food, but very expensive.
Best to take the free air con shuttle to Surin beach and eat there. (Or at another resort) Stock up on drinks etc in the shop up the bike track from the beach, friendly and cheap.
