Excellent Hotel with friendly staff

I would recommend the Avista Phuket Hotel. It had good sized rooms with balconies. The food was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It had a quiet location on a hill but within easy reach of restaurants and the beach.

Rooms are clean and modern, and were a good price. It's a very short walk to kata beach (down a hill). The breakfast was decent...though their interpretation of some things (ie. eggs benedict) is not what you would think. However, the area of kata beach doesn't have much going on...the food is mediocre at best and the scene is more divy.

Overall the hotel was fine, although it lacked atmosphere and I feel the cost of the accommodation was overpriced and didn't deserve the advertised 5 stars. The hotel was full of russians who were unfriendly. The hotel was up quite a steep hill, so walking into town and the beach was fine, but the walk quite hard work - i feel this should have been mentioned.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff

We are a family of adults and stayed for 4 nights. We enjoyed our stay very much. The deluxe rooms had everything we needed - kettle, tea, big bathtub, towels for the pool/beach. There are computers with internet to use in the lobby which was a plus. The staff were very helpful.
The hill that leads up to the hotel isn't that bad and is good exercise!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Visit the tour agencies down the hill rather than booking through the hotel as you will be able to negotiate a better rate.

Five star hotel with great amenities

We came back to this hotel to stay for two additional nights after spending the first night here. The hotel is located on a hill so walking up can be a little tiring. The hotel offers many facilities including two pools, a small fitness center, library/reading room and spa treatments. The nearby town is lively but no as crazy as the Patong area. Overall, we had a pleasant time staying here.

Excellent hotel in Kata Beach

We stayed at this hotel for the first night, went to Phi Phi Island for the second night, and came back to stay for 2 more nights. The hotel kindly allowed us to store our large luggage when we went to Phi Phi. The complementary breakfast is more western style but nevertheless very delicious. For the first night, four of us stayed at the grand deluxe room with a king and a queen size beds, and the room is spacious with great lighting. Overall, we had a pleasant experience with this hotel.

Sukko SPA is nice and worth trying. There is SPA discount coupon in room. The style of the resort is very relaxing. Good choice for vacation. The location is also very convenient with walking distance to kata center. Kata center is smaller than patong but the price is also lower.

The First day,it is rainy.The sescond day,it is rainy.And the third day,it is rainy.We cannot swimm,and cannot go to other iland.We just walk to some place and see something ,we always stay in hotel,the hotel is very good,you will be love to stay.
Nightlife Tip:
a bar street is very near to the hotel ,you can drink something.

Great facilities, not so great service

rooms were great with tasteful modern design but the service has some flaws such as making the laundry bag chargeable when normally that would not be the case for other hotels. Location may not be suitable for party goers as its situated far away from Patong

Great to be able to select the pillow of your choice. Breakfast spread was good .
Hotel should provide more frequent shuttle to kata or karon town so that the guests do not have to trundle up the steep slope.
Restaurant Tip:
Restaurant with fresh seafood at small village, opposite the big shoe shop serves great seafood at reasonable price.
