Lovely spacious rooms, with great views. Free internet. Fully equiped gym and good spa. Not on the beach, but they do have a free shuttle service to the beach. Wish we had stayed longer, the resort is amazing and the room was great. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed in Ayara Hilltops hotel in March 2009 and had a nice experience - which sums up the hotel for us, it was 'nice', nothing in particular wrong with it, but it wasn't spectacular or extraordinary.
Welcome upon arrival was a little disorganised and luke-warm, perhaps as there were a few people checking in at the same time.
The rooms were nice, although a little smaller than the photos imply - the bedroom felt a little claustrophobic.
Buggy service at the hotel is fabulous - the buggy will drop you off and pick you up in the vicinity of the hotel. Rather than arrange a pick-up time with the driver, we'd just call the hotel when we were ready to leave the beach and the buggy would be there within 10 mins.
Location is convenient - great beaches nearby, Surin and especially Laem Singh. Nice restaurants and a couple of bars on Surin beach. Dinner in the hotel was nice, although very expensive.
Restaurant Tip : Nearby Taste and Catch! both excellent - Catch is a little expensive, but nice atmosphere and great terrace. Food at Tast was really good, and great service.
Nearby Silk is really worth a visit - the restaurant will come and pick you up from and drive you back to your hotel. Food and service exceptional.

we took taxi from airport which cost 450B. Hotel design pleasant and staff helpful, especially buggy drivers. Rooms comfortable and stylish; the cheapest rooms are absolutely fine and actually significantly quieter than some of more expensive ones. Need buggy to beach which would be fine if beach area allocated to hotel not so crowded. Chairs are free which is a bonus but a bit tatty. Hotels like Chedi are on a private beach which makes a big difference! (though can use the surin-end of this beach if non-guest). Twin Palms bit of beach quieter and nicer. Surin def. not a 'quieter' destination now; need to look further up coast if that's what you want. Rates through agoda for this hotel good, however.

Nice room size and great design allowing every room with the view of the ocean. Great food: Very friendly service! Not a beach property; the beach is not even as good as it boasts; Quite a lot road noise at the lobby and pool level; Ugly cable and wiring if looking over to the ocean from the pool and the restaurant. Only cold water for the in-room jacuzzi-it's top feature- which is disappointing! We only stayed one night on Jan. 25 there on our way from PP Island to Bangkok; A great place to stay if not looking for nice beach as you need to walk out from the hotel down to a public beach that does not look very attractive. Great design of the room with good room size, a good view and privacy; Hotel staff is very friendly; Great food! Some drawbacks: Lots of traffic noise at lower level-lobby, pool and restaurant-not much of problem if your room is higher up though; Views from these levels to the ocean are obstructed by ugly cables and wiring in-between; no hot water in the Jacuzzi which made much expected experience bit disappointing!
Shopping Tip : Nearby Surin Plaza is worth of stopping by; high-end shops; The top floor-Silk Restaurant offers superb food-Highly recommended.

Loved the buggy service to and from our suite everytime we wanted to go to the pool or the beach. The breakfast and dinner was delicious, and we felt very pampered the whole time.
Hotel Feature Tip : Have to take advantage of the Health and Beauty Spa.
