very large room, very nicely decorated, with a beautiful view of the Andaman sea Breakfast was very disappointing; restaurant is not bad but could be improved; spa was way overpriced; beach was not great and definitely not nice to swim in this area. Ayara Kamala is a wonderful getaway for anyone seeking to take time off from the world and take it very easy. The rooms are beautiful, with large balconies overlooking the Andaman sea. It was great to watch the sunset every day from the room. This is simple luxury, but really offers all the comfort anyone could ask for, including a jacuzzi in the bathroom!
Service was generally quite nice and the staff do try everything they can to help. It's a bit of a pity that most of them have a rather poor command of English, but with a little effort and patience, they really try to accommodate all requests.
1 other little drawback was that Ayara is quite remote and there isn't a nice place where to go for a stroll.
Overall, it was a great place to stay and we will definitely try to come back. It is the perfect place to forget about our busy daily lives and take it easy.

Wonderful view
Generous big rooms and generally well equipped.
Secluded location
Good snorkeling from the small and rocky beach. Steep hills to get anywhere.
Didn't let us drive our car down to near our room (STEEP HILL) and park for 5 min when there is clearly space.
The Ayara is a nice hotel in a secluded location.
The rooms are very generous and, I guess, for the price, it is very good value.
We stayed there as we did not want to pay the THB6000 fees that other hotels are charging for New Year or Xmas dinner, which were rather silly and we have heard decent reviews of the place.
Overall, we were happy with the experience but it has to be said that the hills were quite a challenge (golf buggies would have been nice) and the fit/finish and breakfast/meals are not quite up to top 5-star standards.
Said that, the overall ambiance of the rooms and resort were top quality. We even enjoyed the little beach that they have especially the snorkeling off there. Service down there was questionable though.
I would recommend to stay if you are a fit and active couple looking for somewhere secluded.

Quiet location, elevated position with great views.
Attentive staff, and room spatious and comfortable, with a great view as well. Pool looks great but is located in front of the restaurant so didn't really feel like a dip on display! Beach is down at the bottom of the hill, so we didn't go down for a look....were told it is a bit rocky. We only stayed for one night, on our way up to Bangkok, but we found the stay to be very relaxing and pleasant. We were picked up by the resort limousine from the airport (pre-booked), and overall the staff were very friendly and attentive. The cockail on arrival was very refreshing, and the views from the resort , which has an elevated position are great. The rooms are very well appointed, and we had an ocean view from ours, which was nice. The thai massage and oil massage in the spa are both excellent and recommended. There is a gym as well, which we used in the morning before breakfast. Very quiet and peaceful location. Worth considering if you're wanting something pretty special, but I'm not sure if we could afford to stay for too long!
