We stayed in the presidential suite, lots of space, very large lounge and nice area in the private sala to read and relax. Very pleasant service in the hotel. Free shuttle to Patong area several times per day up until 1600hrs. Free Internet if required.

Pool never really got any sunlight. Cannot walk to the Patong area must take a taxi or tuk tuk. Presidential suite balcony is right by the road, although not particularly busy, it is distracting when trying to read and the electricity cables crackle and buzz when on the sunlounger trying to relax. Restaurant and drinks a little pricey in comparison to Patong area.

In general we enjoyed our stay here, the negatives are only minor and did not stop us from enjoying our stay. It lacks a little bit of atmosphere as there is really nowhere to relax and mingle with other guests apart from the restaurant. We stayed for 5 nights and it was long enough, I think I would have preferred to stay closer to Patong rather than getting continuous taxis' and tuk tuks to get anywhere. It costs around 200 Baht to get in to town if you miss the shuttle so we only went out once or twice a day.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We went all day sight seeing for only 800 baht which was really good value for money, visit to the Big Buddha - Thailand largest Buddha was really interesting and a must see.

A peaceful setting 830m above the bustling Patong Town in a true Thai-Stile boutique Hotel with a good ambience, very friendly staff, good restaurant and rooms

We would have liked to have Coffee/Tea making facilities in the room. Floorboards were squeaking and loose in the room

A beautiful Thai-stile small Hotel with only 21 rooms, but 3 swimming pools and an excellent Restaurant with very friendly staff who treated us as family. The Hotel location is high above the bustling town of Patong in a peaceful and quiet setting. A relaxing ambience were you feel at home. This was our 3rd trip to Phuket and the most enjoyable one. If you look for a quiet and peaceful setting and ambience, than this is for you.

Restaurant Tip : This is your boutique Hotel, when you seek peace and quiet in a truly Thai-stile romantic hotel resort. Free-of-charge limo-travel between 10am and 4pm provided, otherwise you can use a taxi or a tuk-tuk

Baan Yin Dee roughly translates to "welcome hone" and at this small boutique resort, this is exactly how it feels ... except without the cold weather. Large comfortable rooms (ours stepped from the Balcony into one of the two pools) are certainly welcoming and give a sense of old Thai home design but with all the modern amenities one needs. Situated on a hillside, away from but overlooking the bustle of Patong beach and town, the surroundings of Baan Yin Dee imbues you to slow down, relax and just forget about things for a while. The staff are terrific friendly and helpful without getting in your face. Ditch the big name, over sized and over-developed resorts and give this beautiful homely getaway a try.

Hotel Feature Tip : Don't miss the spa, which at first appears just like and overflow pond from the upper level pool.

Beautiful Pool(s); Beautiful View; Great Breakfast; Friendly Staff; and Very spacious rooms

Unfortunately the bath and showers do not appear to be particularly clean, which is apparently due to ‘lime’ within the water.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our seven night stay and were upgraded for our final three nights. The staffs were all friendly and eager to please. Prior to departing and following reading some of the previous reviews on other sites we were hesitant about our stay however there was no need to be. We felt it was much nicer, quiter and more personal staying at a Boutique hotel as opposed to many of the larger hotels we viewed whilst in town. We would certainly consider staying at the Baan Yin Dee again.

Spacious rooms, considerate service and nice view. The whole resort looked breath-taking at both day and night.

Location (double bind)

We had two deluxe pool access rooms, which were very spacious and well equiped. The service was quite good, and they were so thoughtful to offer us red paper pocket with chocalates that look like gold coins. (a chinese tradition for the spring festival). The mini bar was well supplied with drinks and snacks priced at a not exuberant rate, though higher than the local convenient stores. The location of the hotel offers the guests great view of the patong beach downhill. However, it was a mood killer to take the long walk on the steep slopes up and down. We did it both directions for once cos' we ate too much that night. Then, we decided it was just not worth it. The local taxi drivers have a disgusting price alliance. They do it so bluntly as to get me wondering if the local authorities is invovled in that. The staff there was mostly helpful and pleasant, but the reception forgot our morning call request on the day we left.

Restaurant Tip : We had our spring festival dinner at the sea hag restaurant on the patong beach area. One of my friends was in a very bad mood at first that day, but the food totally cheered him up. He ordered a dish which was not even on the menu, but the restaurant still cooked it for him.

Take the hotel's free shuttle to visit Patong Beach, and enjoy the beach and many restaurants, pubs, and shops there.

Nightlife Tip : Lots of nightlife down at the Patong Beach town.

The latch at our room was spoilt, but we found it safe to stay there, so we do not request for a change of room.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Rent a car or a motorbike there, you can go around the whole Phuket Island. On the other side of the island-Kata and Karon beaches are beautiful.

Distressed to find a rotten hole in the floor on arrival, staff had it fixed within the hour.

Hotel Feature Tip : Get a room on the ground floor and next to the pool, great, live like a king and get the wife to keep the beers coming. Just kidding. She can have one too.

Very beautiful place to relax, with the most gracious staff. Book a pool suite. Close to the front but the most awesome view at night. We spent 5 days, a couple where we never left the resort (heaven). We had a pool suite, perfect view. If you want to indulge and never go in to town this is the place to do it. Top class without being over the top. I love this place and would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in Phuket but a bit away from the crowd. It is in a word perfect. Close to town but quiet.

Travel tip : Only pay 200 baht to get back to hotel (at most).
