Lovely hotel and service with a smile

I can thoroughly recommend the Bamboo Beach Hotel and Spa (Kalim Bay, Phuket) to anyone interested in a value-for-money 3-star stay in Phuket. It has an ideal location, 20 metres
from the beach at Kalim, and 5 minutes (by bike or tuk-tuk ) from the bustle and nightlife of Patong.
All the rooms overlook the large and beautiful swimming pool, which is ideal for kids, as it has a shallow end. At night the pool is illuminated by bamboo lamps, and the tropical garden
which surrounds the pool looks simply amazing.
I stayed in a one-bed Superior room for one month . I secured a great deal on the internet from the UK (less than 10 pounds per night - low season) - cheaper than staying in England !
The hotel provides everything you would expect from a 3-star : free shuttle bus running regularly to Patong beach, a variety of tours around Phuket (including diving, watersports, national
park visits, Phuket Town, elephant rides, zoo, Big Buddha etc. ) , cheap moped hire (3-4 pounds per day) etc.
My room was very comfortable , with a big double bed, fridge, lovely spacious balcony overlooking the pool, coffee and tea-making facilitiies, clean and efficient aircon,
daily maid service, tastefully decorated in contemporary Thai style.
There is a lovely bar and restaurant set around the swimming pool, which does great food at reasonable prices (the breakfast is a choice of Thai, American or European).
Just outside the hotel is the beach, lined with cafes and restaurants, hairdresser, Thai massage salon and 24- hour 7-11 convenience store. At night the Thai vendors
set up on the beachfront and you can get delicious kebabs for 20p a go.
It is probably the best value-for-money hotel I have ever stayed in and the staff are great - professional, efficient, friendly and always smiling - they can't do enough for you
(they even lent me money when my credit cards went missing !).
I would especially recommend this lovely hotel to families with young children.

Amazing Place to stay!

firstly, i would confess that our stay was one of the best i have experienced in recent times. the staff is very courteous and helpful. the room we were given first had some problem with the ac getting to work. we requested for a change of room and were immediately given another room without any fuss. most of the rooms are overlooking the pool in the middle of the stay, which is breathtaking! the pool timings are restricted till 10pm in the night, which was lil disappointing, but then understandable because it was for the safety of the guests.
the only less impressive thing about the place was the in-house restaurant, which had a decent spread but may be little low when you compare it with other restaurants around the neighborhood. we hired a bike too, for a day which was very handy and the ride enjoyable. i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to just unwind.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Check out the Patong Beach Road, for a host of food joints. Some of them are just amazing.

Great location, great service, great experience

pros- great location if your not wanting to be right in the middle of the night life. The hotel does offer a free shuttle to and from town throughout the day/night. Very nice staff. Nice clean rooms.
Cons- Mattress was pretty hard. You are not aloud to bring your own food or drink into your room, you must either purchase it from the mini bar or hotel restaurant.
