Great hotel shame about some aspects of service

when we first arrived at bamboo after a long and tiring trip we were told that we had no booking and had to wait for about an hour until we were shown to our first room. the room was very dark and dingy and the bathroom was disguising with brown water comming from the shower and no hot water. the next day we were moved to a pool view room which was alot nicer however still fairly dark and dingey and the air conditioning did not work. the staff were polite but didnt really seem to care atall and they didnt speak english well enough for us to try and get some freebies! the day after we were moved to a lovely bright clean pool view room with a balcony on the upper floor. the shower had hot water and the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and free bottled water. we were finally happy that we had the room we paid for. the hotel offers a free shuttle 4 times a day to patong beach, this is great as patong beach is where all the action is but it is very noisey and dirty and the hotel is located on kalim beach which is queiter less littered and very beautiful and you can actually walk to the top of patong beach in about 15 minutes.

really clean nice pool area with surrounding mountains in view,
polite restraunt and room service staff, reception staff didnt really care about you.
great location - kalim beach, nice restraunts, close enough to patong beach
Hotel Feature Tip:
Avoid hotel rooms on bottom floor,1st floor balcony rooms are much nicer and brighter.

We arrived for check-in at 1:00 PM and we had to wait for 3 hours to get a room. The AirCon in the room wasnt working so we had to wait one more hour to get a decent room. Room condition has to be improved, not well maintained. While around the pool, everyday you are constantly asked if you want to drink something. We heard many customers complaining from the minibar service in the room so it was no surprise when at check out they were asking us 400 baht for minibar, though we didnt drink anything nor use anything. They kept us 55 minutes, trying to get the additional 400 baht in vain. Miserable atmosphere.

bangla road is a gd place to spend the nights with your gangs.

I like this place. There are a lot of things to do in such a small town. Located in front of beach and also have a great sight seeing. Thhis hotel near to patong for you to go to bar. thier stuff also quite friendly and also got motorcycle to rent. Is better to rent from them.
