Everything.
- The check-in experience starts with an excellent juice drink off the lobby.
-The decor is laid-back and sophisticated at the same time.
- My (Jr Suite) was a real suite. Thai deco married with technology.
- 3 pools with swim up bars. Great staff.
- Flex check out time.
- Right across from beach.
- Quite oasis from the Patong throng.
- Every Q and issue was quickly solved.
- great poolside menu - minor equipment issues in room but all quickly handled
- pool staff could have come around more asking about drinks From start to finish I had an amazing experience. The staff, rooms, pools and food were a pleasure without issue. The location from beach and night life couldn't have been more convenient. No bugs in the room which could have been an issue. At the pool I had the Steak and Cheese twice and wouldn't hesitate for a third.
I was there to Scuba the the 5 Star IDC CDC centre is right next door.
Stay here. A rich mix of tradition and today with a warm staff made for a home away from home experience.
Nightlife Tip : In the middle of the nightlife but once in the hotel you feel miles away. Perfect combination.

great loaction, clean nice staff pools are lovely service charge and taxes arent on the menu prices so can be a surprise when u get the bill really nice we stayed two nights then went to a diff hotel then came staright back to ban thai i think that says it all!!

its close to everything, great pools and staff were very friendly. not much there does be an extra 17 per cent on room service and drinks at the pool bar that u dont know about until u get the bill not advertised on price list. internet usage is very expensive in the hotel. all and all a very nice hotel its set far enough back from the beach that there isn't much noise to bother u unless balcony door is open. again the internet is expensive 150 baht for an hour molly malones the pub down the road had free wifi but thats only good if u can be bothered lugging ur lap top around! we stayed our first two nighs in this hotel then moved on to Kata and quickly moved back to bahn thai cause we liked it so much!
Travel tip : molly malones have a brilliant band on from 10pm very good!!! and its just outside the resort

The Baan Thai resort was a great hotel. The rooms are new and very clean and spacious. We have stayed at other hotels in Phuket and this has been the best so far. It is in a prime location next to many bars, restaurants, and shopping. The Patong beach is just a stone's throw from the hotel. Very nice and overall a great experience.

Awesome pools, nice rooms, great location Shower door does not move, but is a minor problem for the price. The hotel was great for the price. We happened to book when vacancy was low, so I think we got a great promotional price.
Hotel Feature Tip : Is a great location near Patpong and hotel sits back from the main street, so it is very quiet.

- Location in the heart of Bukit Bintang
- V. close to the Bukit Bintang monorail
- Clean and modern with good fixtures including shower, new tv - Only 2 hotel lifts to service 12 floors . I was waiting more than 5 minutes for the opportunity to go down to the Ground Level
- Noise levels can be a bit loud due to the location
- None of the luxuries of a 5 star (e.g. extensive fitness centre or pool)
- Interesting 'ocean' themed hotel, had a huge goldfish draped on the wall which was a bit off putting in my room
- If you are getting a private taxi to drop you off from the hotel, it may be hard for them to pick you up as there is no dedicated car park for this hotel. Overall, i enjoyed staying at the Piccolo. The hotel itself is v. clean and modern and I find it useful how close it was to Bukit Bintang mono rail and shopping. The room itself was more like a studio room, but was what I needed for a short stay. The service was good, especially the conceierge. The only negative was the waiting time for the lifts.
Shopping Tip : Pavillion is great value for shopping and food options

minimarket watson, pizza at the hotel area pool bar works only until 6 p.m.
beach towels should be collected at reception instead of drying them in your room breakfast is too expensive - 588 bahts. but you can have it near (e.g. irish pub - 99 bahts)
don't swim at patong - it's not so bad, but a lot of great beach are not far from it (by tuk-tuk - karon, laem sign, nain harn (big waves); by boat - freedom, coral island)
night life only on bangla road. other cafes and bars are closed at 11 p.m.
so if you want have a supper you should do it until 22 p.m.

Location, Friendly staff, Overall good value for money Breakfast is a little expensive for what it is. Mini bar not updated daily. Overall this was a fantastic place to stay. Could not have asked for a better location as it is right in the heart of where all the action takes place! Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Minimal mark up on the mini bar was appreciated. Cocktails at the bars good value for money.
We really enjoyed the outdoor bar out the front entrance (Opens 5pm I think). Great drinks, atmosphere and funky beats!
Suitable for any holiday maker. It was our honeymoon and the staff went out of their way to make it the best experience possible.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Do the Phuket town tour to experience the real local culture!

Very convenient to the beach and local restaurants. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was nice and tidy. Not too many things wrong - always like an independant shower unit (not a shower/bath combo) We made a last minute booking via Agoda and chose Banthai due to the profile given. The hotel foyer looks spectacular and while the rooms are more than adequate they did not quite meet the same standards as the first impression gained when arriving. The welcome from staff is a nice touch although I would have preferred to just get my key and go straight to the room. Overall very good value for the price.
Hotel Feature Tip : If you are not in a hurry then check-in at Banthai is a nice touch - the lounge, towel and cool drink was a nice welcome to the resort.

The location of this hotel is great - across the road from Patong Beach and right in the thick of the shopping and restaurants. The service provided by all the staff was superb - the food was a great variety - buffet breakfast caters for every whim. Our deluxe room offered the pool at our doorstep which was magic, serving drinks and snacks all day at the pool bar. It was quiet in the rooms at night as the hotel is set back from the main road. The internet was provided free at our room level but it was so painfully slow we didn't use it and went out to an internet cafe instead. The tv was a bit difficult too. The room was a bit small for a triple as they just made up the single day bed which was uncomfortable and cramped for the person sleeping on it. You only get one tea bag per day and the powdered creamer provided tastes nothing like milk. This is the same at all hotels. The Ban Thai was not the cheapest hotel on offer but we treated ourselves for four days. It was superb and the customer service absolutely fantastic. The market stalls and restaurants are at the front gate selling all the usual range that you will see everywhere. This is an upmarket hotel with all of the usual services you would expect to be provided. We were extremely happy and had a great holiday.
Shopping Tip : The market stalls at your door offer a wide variety of items. Have a good look and check prices thoroughly before you start to buy as they will differ quite a bit. Don't be afraid to bargain and start at less than half of what their first price offered - have fun - it's great!!

location if you are looking for markets and nightlife we stayed at banthai for 5 nights. we were booked into a deluxe room and were upgraded to one of the suites. The room was really nice and massive.
It was my boyfriends birthday and he got a complimentary cake from the hotel, however it said happy birthday and my name instead of his! (But it was yummy). I suggest getting breakfast included as we did not and it costs 500baht per day which is more than $20AUD at the moment, needless to say we didnt eat breakfast at the hotel.
