Baramee Resortel, Phuket

Welcome drink was good, also we were very happy when told that we have been upgraded to deluxe room for the first night. but for rest of 2 nights we were in superior room, which was at the fag end of the 3rd floor without any view & not great. Deluxe room is quiet good. All rooms are clean & modern. Shower/bathroom was good. All people were always smiling when they had a eye contact - which is very impressive. Pool not very great, but clean. Travel to patong main area is 10-15 mins walk - but not a problem. Patong beach is very accessible. Entrance lobby is modern & looks good. Internet cafe is very expensive with only 2 computers, but just outside the hotel - the internet is quiet cheap. Collection of pool towels - we need to come downstairs to collect the same, whereas the pool is on 2nd floor. Hairdryer is not provided in superior room, but is available in deluxe room. DVD player is available in all rooms. Best part was - hotel staff were very friendly & their response was good.

Very nice hotel a block from Patong Beach. Staff is friendly and helpful, place is modern and very clean. This room had the best water pressure of our entire trip in the shower. The busy night life street is about a 15 minute walk away with lots of shops and restaurants along the way. There is internet access for $3/hour and towels are provided for the beach. While for some the large number of tourist doesn't matter, we preferred the more quiet areas...younger travelers may really enjoy the nightlife here. Certainly, the hotel was good in all aspects.

My partner and I spent 4 nights in this hotel. From the lobby to the rooms to the dining area, everything was tastefully decorated and aesthetically pleasing. The bed was king-sized and comfortable and there was a decent-sized sofa in the room too. However, the std room we stayed in had no hair dryers, only 3 hangers and the showerhead was fixed to the wall. The staff were all polite and helpful. However, there were no complimentary shuttle svcs to Phuket Town or to the main action of Patong where the food and shopping is located (there is almost NO action (ie no shopping or eating stretches where the hotel is located!). We had to take a TukTuk at 130Bht 1 way to get to 999 restaurant for our dinner and spend another 150Bht to get back. If u can ride a motorbike, the hotel offers renting a motorbike at only 200Bht per day. The hotel staff seemed inclined to encourage the use of the hotel taxi service which is on the pricy side. For eg, a 1 way transfer to the airport would cost 800Baht but a taxi just outside the hotel cost 600 Bht. To get to Central (the biggest shopping centre), they charged 500 Bht but taking the big blue public bus from just outside the hotel near the front of Paragon hotel cost us only 25 Bht per person. For the tour operator counters, they did not offer us any discount off the day tours unlike other tour operators we encountered. Also, for dinner, the service was extremely slow (the staff were courteous though) and we met the female boss over dinner. For a late check-out at 5pm, she suggested charging 400Bht which is not unreasonable.
