Stayed at the Benyada Lodge for 3D2N. Was great that they allowed us to check in early at 10am, and check out late at 1.30pm on the last day. Polite staff, Superb location to the beach and not too far off from mini-marts /7-11 and eateries. Room was clean and comfortable,
Restaurant Tip:
Best restaurant around the area is Taste - along Surin Beach. Probably the only restaurant with a non-local as a chef, along the beach.

Benyada a good value for the money
Location - slower paced area well away from the crazy nightlife.

The Benyada is a good value for the money. The location is convenient to Surin Beach (300 meters). If you are looking for nightlife, this hotel is not a good choice (20-25 minute motorbike ride to Patong). If you are looking for a nice beach with great and inexpensive local food options, then the Benyada is a good choice. One downside is the local taxi drivers. There are few choices and they aggressively protect their turf. To return to the airport, I was asked to pay more than double the cab fare that I paid coming from the airport. I booked a car on the internet (at a reasonable price) and when my driver arrived he was confronted by two of the local drivers. It was rather uncomfortable for all involved and might cause me to avoid the area in the future. If you don’t mind paying a significant premium for all services, then Surin Beach is definitely a nice area and the Benyada is a good choice.
Restaurant Tip:
Local food stalls at the beach parking lot. Inexpensive Thai food and drinks and the food is great.

Great simple little hotel

Fabulous little spot on the Surin strip. In the same stretch as more expensive options such as the Marriot Courtyard and the Twin Palms.
We got a great rate as it was low season, and the hotel was not busy at all.
The hotel staff were all very freindly, and didn't even mind when we turned up after 2 days biking with muddy mountain bikes and kit.
The twin room we had was a good size - even had room to store our bikes and bags without crowding the room.
You are easy walking distance to the bars and beachfront restaurants of Surin. There's even a taxi & tuk-tuk stand about 100m up the road, so transport is never an issue.
The 3 course breakfast we got as part of the deal was just huge.
Highly recommend this place for a low cost, decent quality hotel in a great location.

We were very satisfied with our stay at Benyada Lodge. It's close to the beach and the staff were helpful and friendly. We liked the free internet computers in the lobby and our breakfast (included) was a good value and convenient as there aren't easy/cheap dining options nearby. The room itself made a good impression, though our "sea view" room didn't offer much of a view (maybe cuz we were only on the 2nd floor- the tops of trees blocked hte view). The room could also use a few touch-ups, such as some small cracks and peeling paint. The bathroom would smell mildewy for a little while after a shower until the water evaporated (the water wasn't draining properly, floor wasn't slanted correctly), though we didn't have to put up with it much as we spent most of our time outside.
Hotel Feature Tip:
If you are offered a rate that includes breakfast, take it. There aren't many easy/cheap dining options nearby and the breakfast you get is a good value. Breakfast is served 0630-1030am.

Overall, the hotel was a nice place to stay, we had the studio room and it was very quaint, was worth the price you paid. We also got to see the junior suite, and that was very nice, with the view facing the beach and the glass screen dividing the toilet and the rooms, very spacious. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were good, with water provided, beds comfortable, air conditioning was good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Massage Spas were further up the road, near the houses etc.

Benyada Lodge- Surin Beach- Benyada at Sea room
Room was very clean, breakfast was huge, staff very helpful and approachable.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Benyada Lodge, we had 2 rooms between us, the Benyada at Sea Room (on the top floor) which we had to change in the first couple of hours- when the shower was on it was very noisy, staff were helpful and didnt mind at all and a standard Twin room. Air con could do with updating as it did take a while to cool down. Breakfast was included and was very good, you have the choice of anything on the menu- the only problem is they do tend to bring it out for you all at once- finding space on your table will tax your sleepy brain!
I would stay here again as the beach was not too busy and the staff helpful- never used the pool on the roof, there is a half price cocktail Happy Hour every evening- very nice!!
Shopping Tip:
If your going to the market in Phuket- organise a return Taxi ride- otherwise they will try and charge you a fortune to get back to your hotel!!

This is a Lovely hotel with beautifully decorated rooms, I had a room overlooking the road and it was peaceful. The road is not very busy, however you should be careful with your kids exiting the hotel to watch out for cars, the entrance is just near a corner so watch out, the thai drivers are fine but you do see european girls flying around on motorbikes and they don't seem to be in control,the hotel is a 100 meter walk down a quiet road to surin beach, it is probably the closest hotel to the beach, Surin beach is class and gets a nice kind of tourist mostly, it is very child friendly and I hope to bring the wife and kids next year, however I would not recommend bringing a baby as with the hot weather and time difference the ones I saw all looked miserable, if you turn left just before the beach there is a great tourist office where you organise trips around the island to visit the many attractions
I was only there for a weekend break during a business trip around SE Asia and I really hope I can go back to Benyada lodge
Travel tip:
the main shopping road is right by the beach and follows the whole length of the beach

This hotel was relitivley close to the airport. The taxi cost 600 baht. The hotel staff welcomed us with a couple of drinks on our arrival!
The staff was helpful organising a taxi and booking a table at a resturant. Breakfasts are not great. Get there early to get it hot!!
Hotel Feature Tip:
Good hotel for a first stop base to arrange the rest of your stay in Thailand with free internet. Surin beach is a short 5 min walk. Red Tuk Tuk's are cheaper than the taxi rank based outside. Tuk Tuk's are found left of the hotel outside cash point.

Nicely located near the beach and excellente food
The location, the food in the restaurant and for the roomservice. Free Internet that was quite fast actually.

Nice location near the Surin beach makes it the perfect hotel for a couple of days of relaxation in the sun. The restaurant food was great also and we ate most of our meals there because of this. Both the western and thai food were great.
Descent price I guess also.
