the bungalows were very basic and could probably do to be maintained a little but the location makes it all worth while. the island is absolutely stunning first thing in the morning up until around 10 am! this is when all the day trippers turn up on their boats, literally hundreds of people decend onto the island turning it into something resembelling benidorm! then at around 4 pm they all leave and you remember why you are here!! you can see this was a beautiful place but now it is being spoiled by alot of building work, as more hotels get built the beauty is being taken away.

I had the best time ever on my birthday staying at Bungalow Raya, having the best view on the whole island. The place is very basic - if you want a 5-star treatment go stay at The Racha or Rayaburi - but the best value on the island I must say.

This resort would have to be the best place i've ever stayed...and i've travelled a lot. i was expecting the Junior suite to be nice but to find out i had 2 spas instead of 1 was a very nice surprise...the staff are very friendly and lovely pool and restaurant!
Nightlife Tip:
the resort is a 10min cab from patong and worth being out of the action as patong is very full on....lots of fun though and you'll know what to do when you get there and it's in your face :)

we had a great time on raya island and these bungalows are located at the prettiest beach. although they are very basic, older bungalows that are not tip top in cleanliness, they are inexpensive and are conveniently located to a world class beach. they make it possible to stay on a tropical island with great snorkeling, body board surfing, and sunbathing on a white sand beach with a low volume of tourists. because most people who come to the island are day tourists, the beaches are a great place to relax in the morning before the sun gets too intense and in the evening to watch the sunset.
Restaurant Tip:
There are many different restaurant options on the island but no street food options. There is a restaurant located close to the bungalows that has good food and there is a 5 star restaurant a 10 minute walk away that is closer to the beach. For most of the restaurants on the island, the cost begins around 200 baht and can quickly go up to 300-600 baht so be prepared to pay more for food than you would in most parts of Thailand.

Definitly worth staying several days, however make sure the weather will be good for return trip. Very remote but beautiful island

nice hotel, good food, rooms were cleaner than expected, rooms locations were 5 star (specially the ones we stayed, rooms 6 and 7). i am six month pregnant and i felt that going up the hill was a bit tiring (as you need to walk up to the room) but apart from that the stay was quite nice! believe to be best food around the area and prices also were reasonable.. the staff were ok, not a great service, i thought they were quite indifferent.. but, hey, what can you expect from a one star hotel?
