BYD Lofts Hotel, Phuket

Very happy with the BYD Loft apartments. Very modern well equipped apartments, although there is no breakfast provided, the kitchen is very well equipped and we prepared our own breakfast each day.The apartments are down a small quiet street within walking distance to all shops, restaurants and the Patong beach. Would recommend the BYD Lofts to any guests who require acomodation with space, modern fittings and fixtures, it is a very nice facility.

I stayed for 3 nights in August, it rained much of the time so I spent a little more time in the room that I'd intended. Fortunately, the room exceeded expectations - roomy, modern features, well equipped. There were cold towels, fresh juice and a basket of fruit awaiting me in the room when I arrived, and cute towel folded animals on the bed. The loft suite comprised a small entrance lobby, sitting area with flat screen TV & surround sound system, kitchenette area with centre island, built-in fridge, storage, microwave and boiled water dispenser (kind-of super kettle); a bedroom with a glass desk (and see-through swivel chair) and mirrored wardrobes, and a modern bathroom with dual head shower. The bedroom and sitting areas had modern, upscale occasional furniture, with locally painted modern art on the walls. Oh, and there was a nice balcony which I didn't use much as it was mainly raining. I loved it. The hotel had a reasonable collection of movies for rent (inexpensive). I didn't try the bar or the restaurant, preferring to try a variety of local restaurants, cafes and street stalls. 2 minutes from the hotel is a covered market of street food stalls and restaurants along Thanon Ratuthit Songrpoipi. Had excellent food on the beach which is 5 minutes (by foot) from the hotel. Bangla St is a 10 minute walk. I enjoyed both the Simon Cabaret (ladyboy cabaret!) and Muay Thai at the Bangla Stadium. This was my first trip to Phuket, and I arranged airport pick-up and drop-off through the hotel, which was convenient and worked out OK. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere that also afforded me privacy when I wanted it.

Booked the one bedroom appartment via Agoda. Was welcomed upon arrival by the friendly dutch manager. Appartment was very spacious and had nice 'hip' design. All amenities were there, including large couch, big LCD TV and a proper kitchen. Aircondintioner in both the living room and bedroom very powerful, so rooms are cool withing minutes. Small and quiet pool area on the rooftop. I had a very relaxing stay at BYD and will return there when in Phuket.
