Gorgeous resort.
Plunge pool and club access a plus

Stayed here for three nights in a one bedroom villa. Very private and quiet. Included club access. Food and drinks provided throughout the day. Free breakfast buffet was awesome. Only two complaints, the Mosquitos are pretty bad, even in the restaurants and lobby, also in the villas the only way to get ice is by calling room svc. Sometimes it took multiple calls to get a bucket of ice.
Travel tip:
Bring mosquito repellant.

thank god for alternative restuarants in town and at the end of the beach. Unbelievable that they would not give help to arrange for taxi to airport but only offered their own car and at double the rate. how hard is it to offer wi-fi in our room?

Shopping Tip:
Dont bother with shoppinh centres just go to Patong Beach or even 10 minute walk in opposite direction of Patong for local shops

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this resort. There was a great beach and wonderful pools to enjoy. We were able to book all of our excursions through the activities desk and we felt very safe and enjoyed all the trips that we went on. The Elephant trek was our favorite and I would highly recommend doing that trip. I love the staff. They were so welcoming and ready to help with anything. My only negative would be the quality of the room. It was nice, but I expected more from a 5 star hotel because I have stayed at 4 star hotels were the rooms were much nicer. Also, our room did not have much of an ocean view even though we paid the ocean view rate.
Shopping Tip:
Junceylon Mall is a great shopping center with many things to do. Don't spend your money at the spa at the resort. Go to this mall and spend $10 on a facial which is wonderful and it includes a massage as well. There are so many restaurants to choose from and they will, also, cost less than the resort.

Great rooms and pool but food not so good !

private beach, best pool ever and great rooms are where the fun starts and unfortunately stops. the hotel as a whole lacks in one major area and thats understanding the english language. "they dont get it" constantly when ordering food at the pool and in the restaurants they will never get it right. this is my second time staying here and it was not a deterent the first time becouse the hotel was very new and we understand training with new staff etc, but now a year later they still dont get the basics of food and beverage service... the main chef is french and he was seving raw hamburgers at the grill to guests at the bbq.night buffet (he should stick to (snails and croissants) we enjoyed the breakfast buffet however the pancakes are always under cooked as well as the omletts "runny" if you like under cooked food then stay at this hotel.
Restaurant Tip:
the red onion is the best restaurant serving authentic thai cusine at cheap prices only 1 mile from hotel in karon town.

Great : Water jump & Water slide!
I and our kids loved them.
Good : all facilities were new and nice
Kid club programmes are good.
Bad : some service was not good enough.
eg) some employees were not able to speak English.
Restaurant food was not tasty. and limited (Thai and Italian)
Poor : hotel building structure was not stroller friendly.
whenever you go around,
1)You have to meet the step(the elevators were not covering all)
2)You have to go outside (you need umbrella on rainy season)
Bugs!
Bugs (ants) kept coming into our room. (Bed, toilet, etc)
so we could change our room after second claim.
Restaurant Tip:
On the beach there are good local restaurants on the south. (10 min walk)

Newest Hotel at Karon Beach

the hotel was good on the whole. well decorated room, direct beach assess, elegant swimming pool and good check-in/out services, warmth birthday cake etc. however, as resort, the number of facilities in the resort was dissapointed me. there are only 2 restaurant, a small fitness centre, kids play room and i can hardly mention more. so if u plan for a resort vacation, you may feel dissatisfied. but all in all, in karon beach, centara grand was the best option.

This Resort has something for everyone.

Centara Grand is the newest resort on Phuket. It has been built with all types of travellers in mind. The rooms are very well appointed with spacious terraces attached. The pools are great, and the Lazy River and Plunge pool with water slides keep the kids ( and adults ) entertained for hours. Restaurants cater to all tastes. There is also an Adults-Only pool area for those couples and singles who want to relax away from the kids. It's right on the beach, and you don't get hassled by lots of beach vendors. Above all, the staff are super-friendly and always accomodating. We have two kids aged 11 and 13, and they had a ball! Great location, and an easy taxi ride to Karon or Patong. We'll be back!

The hotel is set out over a large site. The rooms are spacious and new. The staff are very efficient and friendly. The swimming pools are perfect for sitting and relaxing or being active with the kids. The beach is right out the front of the hotel.
The hotel is a 300baht tuk-tuk ride from Patong and the sites on the way are amazing, elephants, Thai boxing. Close to all the sightseeing if you ever want to leave the hotel.
Breakfast is amazing!!! Any sort of food you could think of.
Shopping Tip:
Worth a trip into Patong for the night markets. Great experience.
