Great Spa
Few kids and lots of privacy
Great views
Great value for money
Lots of walking required
A bit out of town and tuk tuk's are expensive
Just returned from 12 days in Thailand (11 in phuket/phi phi island). Out of the 4 hotels we stayed at this was the cheapest AND the best as far as hotel it self. It is a bit out of the way from rest of Karon Beach but that can be a good thing. We didnt even have the upgraded (plunge pool rooms) and we very impressed none the less. Definately would stay there again.
Restaurant Tip : Little restruant at foot of stairs to beach has cheaper beer and food than at hotel but obviously not the same quality in food but it is great for lunch.

Beautiful place, nice cabins all with an excelent view, great breakfast, wonderful view from the restaurant. The spa service and installations are awesome.
the path to the beach needs attention, the towels offered by the hotel are very old with holes not really offers the quality of the hotel.
We spend two nights on this hotel and I will definetly be back. The pool is great, you must have a dinner on the restaurant enjoying a great and probably the best view of Karon beach bay. As well must try the spa services. We wished to stay more time. Althought it is a pity that beach towels offered by the hotel are really very old and full of holes, the hotel must pay attention on that.

Staff, Karon beach and restaurant (view, design and breakfast).
Villas are not well designed. They need screens on doors and windows that can open with screens, electric outlets and better lighting.
The staff and their services were excellent. The setting is wonderful but as the villas are situated among the flora, there are a lot of insects generating a lot of noise and bother. The villas do not have screens so it is airconditioning or open to the insects, and the airconditioning is stale. The villas also do not have sufficient electric utilities: one outlet and not enough lighting to read. Karon beach is great and the hotel's access is very good down a steep but developed pathway.
Hotel Feature Tip : The tour service is very good, providing standard rates and activities with some negotiated pricing on transport in a relatively quick and painless manner.

great location, overlooking Karon Beach. Nice bungalows on a a hill. Nice pool. Very stylish bathroom. Even with many guests you hardly see them as the bungalows are spread along the hill
many stairs! The entry of the hotel is the lobby and the restaurant. To reach the bungalows you need to go down stairs. There was a little cab but we just walked as our bungalow was not too far.
There is no direct access to the beach but there is a footpath from the pool which will bring you to Karon beach in about 10min.
Stayed there for a couple of nights to relax. Great bungalow (106) with privacy as at a dead end and we enjoyed the view of the sea from our terrace with two chairs. Bathroom seemed to be very new with rain shower and was absolutely stunning. Great view from the restaurant and bar. Breakfast was buffet with a wide choice.
Staff was always helpful and friendly. Only downside was the 1h drive from the airport but the hotel is nicely located between Patong and Karon
Travel tip : We rented a motorbike which was great to get around and you are not dependent on taxis

Quiet, great breakfast buffet, close to beach (but not on beach), helpful accomodating staff, wonderful sunsets.
Have to use taxi's at the hotel to get to airport fixed price 900baht.
Nice spacious villas with balconies overlooking the beautiful ocean especially at sunset. Number of steps are overwhelming, but a golf cart will come pick you up and take you around resort. Wonderful pools. Helpful staff who would do anything for you. Great breakfast buffet. Quick walk to the beach through the jungle. Good thai restraunt at end of path way to beach (first one on left), which even has take away.

The excellent view and accessible to both Patong and Karon.
However cab charges to Patong 300BHT per trip
My wife and I, checked-in to the hotel on 22 January. We stayed at the hotel for 4 days and 3 nights. Based on previous reviews, we reserved a room located at the foot of the hill – close to the pool and beach. The hotel reservation staff was extremely accomodative and obliged us with the particular room .
We spent the first day of our stay at the hotel and at the nearby beach. The beach is a 5 mins walk from the hotel through a dedicated path. The first food stall located at the foot of the hill is excellent...try the seafood Tom Yam! Patrons are allowed to use the deck chairs for free, provided that you order food or drinks from the stall.
The staff in the hotel are very helpful and they understand basic english. We had an emergency on the last day of our stay at 3am (in the morning) and we had to rush to the airport. The hotel staff were helpful in arranging our check –out. Due to the rush, we left some clothes at the laundry service provided by the hotel. I made a request for the clothes to be couried to my country of origin; and the hotel agreed!
My wife and I will definitely stay in hotel again… probably at the pool villas.
Nightlife Tip : Try Rock City at Patong - very good live music!

service and staff excellent - room pleasant
expensive taxis to town, no bathtub and expensive internet
we had 5 nights at the centara and enjoyed the stay. However it was a relief that we had rented a car as the taxis to Karon were 200 baht each way for a 5 minute journey. Internet was very expensive and there was no bath in our room which I really missed. we were in 106 and there is a sort of cul-de-sac outside where the maids stopped to chat or store towels etc and it was noisy in the mornings. the staff were brilliant but it would have been nice not to have been rushed out of breakfast 10 mins after the buffet closed. One needs to be fit for this hotel as there are numerous steps.

The room design. The sea view from the balcony.
The cleanliness of the room could be improved - maybe start with the roof glass and plant corners in the bathroom.
Centara Villas Phuket was the first hotel we chose for our Thailand trip. Luckily, it was very satisfactory. For the most impressive experience there, first, it's about the mini-bus shuttle, which takes guests from their room to the lobby or anywhere in the hotel zone up or down the hill. It was unexpectedly exciting when we first tried it on our way from the lobby to our room.
Secondly, it was about the room itself. We chose a Deluxe room. It looked just as beautiful as the picture showed in Agoda. Plus, the bathroom has glass roof, and a bow of fish and countless green plants - all make you feel so connected to the nature.
Last but not least, the hotel people here are just so nice and helpful, especially I like the way they treated us when we just arrived and waited to check-in. We were led to be seated in the sofa, and in no time there came 2 coconuts with icy towels at our service. And everyone were smiling to serve us.
Shopping Tip : Suggest to take a taxi to Patong rather than stay in Karon. It was 300Bht for a single trip, which was an agreement that hotel helped to get with the taxi driver.

beautiful rooms in a great location
very quiet area. You need to hire a car
The hotel comprises many little chalets clinging to a very steep and wooded hill overlooking the sea. There is a good pool complex equally carved out on a terrace. Each of the chalets / rooms has a bed draped in mosquito nets and the atmosphere is extremely romantic. The steep hillside ensures privacy for honeymooners etc, and make the place not very suitable for the elderly or those with very small children. The entertainment area of Karon beach is quite close, - bu t not close enough. I would never stay there without renting a car.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I have recommended visits should arrange their own car, but the hotel runs a shuttle to Karon Beach and once there, getting a taxi back is no problem at all.

We were extremely disappointed with the reception staff. We had a medical emergency and were waiting on a fax from our insurance company. The reception staff were asked to phone our villa as soon as it came which they didn't do. Each time I phoned them I was told it hadn't arrived. I phoned Australia from our villa a number of times and was told it had been sent. When I went up to personally check the fax machine I found that it actually had arrived quite some time earlier. We asked reception to book a car for 6.30 am on the day of our check out and to tell the driver he had to go to the airport via the hospital. We paid 900BHT for the service and on the day the driver didn't turn up. When the car hadn't arrived by 6.30 am we asked reception to phone the company only to be told it was on its way. 15 minutes later we asked the reception staff to phone as the driver had still not arrived. She phoned but didn't come over to us to explain what was happening. We had to ask her several times, in the end she said he had had a car accident and wasn't coming. She had no interest or understanding of the problem we were then facing. The company we booked has many cars and we both felt that we had been lied to and that reception hadn't actually booked a car. By this stage it had become a major problem due to flight times, so the night staff reception boy took us in his car. He confirmed that reception had forgotten to book the car service. The car we traveled in was filthy both inside and out. Only one of us could sit in the back seat as it was sopping wet from Songkran five days earlier. The young man who drove us had extremely limited English and did not understand that we needed to go via the international hospital. He did apologise for the state of his car and said he wasn't expecting to have any passengers. When we finally managed to get to the airport he charged a 1000THB payment for the ride. The hotel refunded the original 900THB which we had paid for the limousine serv

We were nervous about staying at the Villas having read some negative reviews on Agoda about staying on such a steep hill, but when we got there, we were so impressed! There is a minicar that will ferry you up the hill at any time of day or night and the access to the beach is great! Just a short path, and made of concrete steps - not a treacherous path at all!
Hotel Feature Tip : If you can, ask for a villa close to the bottom of the hill, as this is the closest to the beach and pool. Around room 411 is perfect.
