Good hotel for a night in Phuket Town.

Excellent hotel for a nights stay n Phuket Town. Very nice rooms with big TV, hot shower and comfortable beds. Not much else to do n the area, but a market about 15 min walk away. Very helpful staff in the hotel, organised all our onward tickets. Would recommend the hotel.

Clean rooms but unhelpful staff

We stayed on the 5th floor and though our rooms were air conditioned the hallways were not and their was no elevator. It seemed like a long hot hike to our rooms, especially with our large backpacks. When we arrived no one offered to help us up with our luggage and we were almost dead by the time we got all the way up to our room (mostly because of the excessive heat in the hallways). The hotel was clearly empty so why even put us up on the 5th floor to begin with?
Lonely Planet touts the excellent location but I disagree. There are very few good restaurants in the area. It is close to a local bus route but after riding it to save some money I would advise against it. Phuket-town itself is an incredibly dirty, ugly, smelly and hot city. The only reason we went there is to make a connection with a sea kayaking trip. There is nothing cultural to see, no fine dining, no nature - long story short, one of the worst cities I have ever visited. The beaches outside Phuket are entirely different and If you can afford it I would advise staying there.

we had reservations at zeavola on ko phi phi starting on wednesday day, but arrived in phucket on tuesday night. we simply needed a clean, affordable and safe place to stay close to the part, as our goal was to make the early ferry to ko phi phi. that is exactly what we got at chinotel. i recommend it for these purposes without hesitation.

the rooms an new and clean and if you want to see the town you´ve an good location to discover the city by walking. it´s right next to the market hall and fruit market. that´s why it´s quit noisy and a bit smelly but you´ve an excellent shopping location. the staff doesn´t speak a good english but it´s enough. there no lift, so if you have a room in the 4th floor with all your luggage and over 30°C you can take a shower afterwards :)
if you want to book a trip don´t do it in the hotels. check out the travel shops and compare the prices. we paid less than half the price ...

"hotel" is next to a fish market

This "hotel" is next to a fish market and the smell infiltrates the hotel making it very unbearable. There is an increased number of Mosquitos and flies due to the location and mold in the bathroom. We spent a lot of time killing bugs in the room. The location is in the middle of the city, so it is definitely not the place to stay if you are looking for the beach. We only stayed here because it was our stopping point to get to Ko phi phi, so we really wouldn't stay here again.
