Nice island, nice location and good views, lot of fish to be seen when snorkeling, corals better at walking distance Banana beach, friendly staff. Internet via wireless is for free !! Every day staff brings you free coffee at 3 pm. Take some books for reading with you!
Heared other guests complaining that the bungalows you stay in are not very luxurious, not always super clean and some issues with the bathroom but we did not have this issues at all. However, the price of 1000 Bhat for a return trip to Chalong pier makes you think twice when you like to do a lot of day trips off the island. Donot expect too much entertainment in the evening, there is nothing but a bar, some TV's, and an old pool table. Maybe the hotel should put some efforts in having e.g. a ping pong table, some board games or organise something more for the guests.
If you like to experience some days off the main land, on your island, just to relax and do not more than sun bathing, snorkeling, swimming in the hotel pool this is a good place to be. Donot expect a luxury hotel, it is a simple hotel place but you all have your own bungalow with airco, fridge, shower/toilet. There is no TV in your room, which we did not regret at all. We liked the pool table as doing nothing can get you bored.
Say hi to the 'reception desk cat' and the island dogs, they are all as relaxed as the island.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walk the trail to Banana beach, it has less tourists, better corals and lot's of tropical fish. Also you can get dinner/lunch up to 4pm if you want something different from the hotel food.

Solid accommodation, good food, friendly staff, good service.
ATM would be handy;generally overpriced;not much to do after the sun goes down.
Coral Island Resort is a nice little "village" surrounded by two beautiful beaches, both good for snorkeling and swimming. It is all very idyllic for maximum 2-3 days since there is not much to do after the sun goes down. It feels good to sleep for first few days but then it gets a bit monotone. It is generally a good place for families with kids

Nice beach surrounded by coral and tropical fish.
Expensive food. Room worned.
There should be a TV set in the room, especially at the lone island like this. Smelly toilet water, and I wonder why they setup white fluorescent lamp in the room; can't relax at all. Am I supposed to camp here? Even at a low price, we have to pay extra speed boat fee at 1600 for 2 person. That's more than the roomrate I paid. No worth staying.

Scenery, Simplicity, Relax, Sea, Pool, right on the beach
What a fantastic place for a great holiday!!
Relax is the key word, although if you wanted there are banana boat rides, parasailing and other such activities, but nobody is pushing you to do anything and is all up to you. The incredible calm that descend in the early afternoon when all the daily tourist, visiting with the boats, go home, is MARVELOUS!
The most awful think is to re-adapt to your daily life once back at home, I wish we could live there instead.. watch out for me in the future, who knows it might happen for real!
I read the reviews before hand, and some were complaining about the cut of electricity during the day, the lack of perfectly fresh water to wash and so on, but for us it was all in perfect style with the place, we could have done even with less; in all a great, undemanding, unwinding, relaxing holiday.

Secluded beach
Crystal Clear Water
friendly staffs
Free afternoon tea delivered to the room
Only one hotel on the beach
Food at the restaurant is just OK
An ideal place for those who want to relax and just be with the nature. Nice beaches with activities (not all provided by hotel though); banana boats, scuba diving class, snorkeling, sea walker, cayak etc. We can walk to the banana beach by foot.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : For the activities, if you refers that you stayed at the hotel, or ask the hotel staffs to ask the price for you, you can get discount.

Location, Secluded, Private Beach, Good Security, Good food, Great for snorkelling,
Early dinner, insects and mosquitoes, salty water in room, breakfast spread could be better. check the snorkelling gear once u rent it for 100 bhat for 24 hrs.
value for money resort. great place to relax. nights are very good and peaceful. breakfast spread needs to be improved. great place for snorkelling, underwater walking and scuba diving. could not make up for parasailing as it was high tide. minimum 2 nights recommended.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Bargain for parasailing, underwater walking and scuba diving. parasailing and underwater walking is done by another company so bargain for 600 bhats and 1000 bhats for each activity.

Great place to unwind! No TV or phone in your room. Some of the comments noted a Robinson Crusoe feel but it felt more like Gilligan's Island. And for us, it was perfect. The room is very basic and some bugs and mosquitos in the room but that fits into the Gilligan's Island life style.
Being the only hotel on the island with a restaurant and little shop, food and drinks were expensive compared to rest of Thailand. The other definite negative was the bug spraying they did to the buildings. We were in the room when billowing smoke with a nasty smell came through the AC unit. We ran out of the room and found out they were fumigating but didn't notify us that they were going to do this. We could have gotten deathly ill!
If you're looking for comfort and excitement, this is not the place to be. But if you don't mind basic accomodations with no TV and phone (yes, rooms have AC!) and just relaxing by the beach with the only excitement being swimming or snorkeling, then this is the perfect place. The beach is the prettiest that we've seen so far in
Thailand (we haven't been to Phi Phi yet). Visibility for snorkeling wasn't the best but there are plenty of fish that swim around you close to shore. They shut off the power from 9-11 am and 3:30-5:30 pm so make sure to plan on being at the beach during these hours!
Restaurant Tip : If possible, do your snack and beverage shopping on Phuket and bring it with you. They have a mini bar refrigerator that has some room for your own drinks.

Beautiful, quiet, white sandy beach. Breakfast & dinner on the beach ( when the weather permitted ).
Need to place in tv and WiFi connection in every room.
If you're booked into this hotel, get the speed boat from Chalong Bay, Phuket that will cost you TB 400 one way journey. It takes about 15 mins boat ride from Chalong Bay to Coral Island Resort.
The electricity will shut twice daily, one at 9am which is perfect time to wake up and get ready for breakfast on the beach. Buffet breakfast is until 10am.
In the evening, you may take the massgae at the end of the resort on the beach area. Enjoy the sunset while having your massage and with the sound of the wave and nature at the background.
Shopping Tip : Gift shop has limited item available. Get all your neccessity when you are still at Phuket mainland.

Beautiful beach, very quiet, great food at the two restaurants on the entire island and the beach bar had the best seviche I've ever had!
If you're looking for nightlife then this isn't the place for you. No t.v in the rooms either but we didn't mind!
This place is just great. We left Patong Beach, Phuket (which we hated-too crowded) and went to Coral Island. We took a local long boat to the island and were amazed at what we found. There was no dock for the boat so the boat just pulled up on the beach and we jumped out on to the sand. The staff greeted us beach side and showed us to check-in. The hotel was very quiet with bungalow style rooms which were very modest. The breakfast buffet was great and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. If you're looking for a hotel with a quiet, white sand beach and complete relaxation then this is the place for you. We were in bed by 10:00P.M. every night and finally experienced what vacation was supposed to be.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The snorkeling was great! We had so many fish around us I actually had to get out of the water because I was freaking out!

we were only taken aback because the first day we were the ONLY people staying on the island. to some they may reap the joys of having an island to yourselves to others, its a little wierd being the only guests to a resort...it was very bates motel the first day. but others did come the following day. staff was friendly. this place is getting a little rustic for first time travellers.
Restaurant Tip : the pineapple salad is excellent!

We orignially planned to stay for five nights but left after two. Reasons were loud guests, uncomfortable beds and what was really annoying was the daily tourist wave coming to Coral Island for snorkeling, sun tanning etc. I was told Coral Island is something like a Robinson Cruso feeling. It definitely was not.

I would definately recommend anyone visiting Coral Island goes scuba diving - there are some beautiful types of Coral very close to the shore which provides a great shallow shore dive. I would also reccomend a trip on a long boat in the afternoon to see the sunset and go fishing.
Restaurant Tip : When they say Mild - prepare for a hot dish!!!
