right on the beach
view, location and comfort

we came to dang sea view after staying at The Dewa and even though the standards were quite different, we really loved our stay at Dang simply because it is right on the beach. we had a sea view room and it was so nice laying in our bed just gazing at the sea. the place is run by very friendly people and it is very close to the airport. there are many beach side restaurants near by with all kinds of fresh seafood.

Reasonable value. More intimate than Nai Yang Beach Resort and right on the beach. Nai Yang is beautiful but not for those wanting nightlife other than restaurants on the beach. Ideal for early morning strolls on the beach and early nights. Hotel is made up of small but comfortable ground floor rooms with sliding patio window type entrances so no privacy unless the curtains are drawn. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Don't expect too much as this is really a room only sort of place but good value for what it provides and its superb location.

The lady running this bungalow was the first and only unfriendly, abrupt person we experienced in Thailand. You cannot see the sea from any of the rooms, except if you're lucky enough to get the one in the front ( which was available the whole one we were there, but they didn't let us stay in!). The decor is very dated and when we arrived, despite it being well past check-in time and there being 5 other fully cleaned and prepared rooms visible, we could see the room they gave us had only just been briefly cleaned as everything was still wet and there were blood marks from dead Mosquitos all over the walls, which was gross. The rooms all face onto the walkway and a major drawback is that the glass on that side has not been tinted, so erryone walking past can see you in your bed. Otherwise the location is good with a number I bars and restaurants a short walk away. This beach is nice for walking, swimming and picking shells, but otherwise a bit quiet. A little too expensive for what you get as we came from a more popular area further south where we paid less and had a much nicer room, with more included and much friendlier staff right on the beach.
Restaurant Tip:
Beware of Baan Ra Tree on the beach as we specially selected it because it had high tripadvisor ratings and because I am pregnant, we wanted to ensure the freshest food, but my husband had a soft shell crab dish there and 20 minutes after he ate it he was violently throwing up, which lasted nearly 2 days with a fever and he wasn't right for day after that!
